In short: A great local race. Well organised and very very friendly. But I would say that, as one of the organisers! Everybody else seems to agree though.

In short: Awesome, you must do this race
In full: My first 'proper' off road race, and it reminded me of my mountain bike racing days - only better. Great course, great organisation, difficult to see any event bettering this one. Truly amazing.

In short: Small and beautifully formed.
In full: One of those "village" events that leave you wondering why you bother with the mass runs. Organisation was great, marshals brilliant, and support all around the course. And the cake....

In short: Wonderful scenery, killer hills, excellent marshalling and overall organisation
In full: The course feels like a big-time XC race, with challenging trails and arduous hills (including the very enjoyable downhill descents) that test all abilities. Additionally, the incredible level of marshalling seems like it would suit a race for 1000+ runners. This is all capped off by the wonderful local feel, and the festival type atmosphere at the start/finish area where waiting families and finishers are kept entertained, fed and watered at the BBQ, cake stall and bar.

The organisers should be very proud of a race which is only in its second year. A must for the race diary next year.

In short: Great 9 miles up and down chalk ridge with scenic views
In full: Tough trail race with the short, sharp hills near the start. The first hill is a killer! Then a few more up and down the ridge before a more undulating terrain through lovely country side. A slow climb back towards the village before a last plunge back down from the ridge. Well signed, loads of friendly marshalls, buffalo burgers, cake and tea at the end. What's not to like!
