In short: Great race my first sub 50 min 10k In full: Great race from start to finish. Registration was quick just a small queue. Marshals and the support were good. The snacks at the finish where a nice touch. I will be back next year to try and beat my now new PB Date of review: September 30, 2013
In short: Great race for all levels from complete beginners to club runners wanting a PB . Really enjoyed it again - well organised . Great tannoy and music. Marshalling good. Could have just done with a few extra portaloos! Date of review: September 30, 2013
In short: Really great and friendly event. The man on the microphone at the finish was brilliant! Considering it was on an industrial estate the scenery was not bad at all as there were a couple of lakes and plenty of trees. Date of review: September 30, 2013
In short: Simply lovely race In full: Let's be clear this is unlikely to make your favourite race of all time list but what it does have is a great little course, a great atmosphere and a bit of bling all combined with some terrific organisation. I was chatting to the race organiser before the race and he was so passionate about putting on good events, listening to the runners and giving a good value event that really you can't see how a race like this could ever fail. I rolled up early to make sure I got a space as I feared it might sell out and given the numbers at the start line they must have had nearly the 400 allowed.
As for the race? Well it was flat, it was fast and it was fun, great marshals, a bit of support on the course and every type of runner. I tend to focus on the bigger distances but this was a nice reintroduction after injury. Add in the fact there was a lovely little tea wagon, lots of post race snacks and even a few portaloos and public transport to the start and what more could you ask for.
The bling was, although not a bespoke medal, much appreciated and will sit proudly at the front of my collection until next weeks Royal Parks Half Marathon. I think I've got a bit of a soft spot for this 10km and I think I'll be back next year and maybe even participate in a couple of their other events.
In short: Great friendly race on a quick course. In full: Really enjoyed todays race, with the only issue perhaps being better/more car parking. The start was good and the course was really flat, but with quite a few sharp turns. The wind can also be a problem, but got my fastest time for 5 years today, so I am over the moon. The man at the finish on the PA shouting encourage to runners has to get a mention too he was brilliant. The set up at the finish was good too. Date of review: September 29, 2013
In short: Really well organised In full: Extremely flat route with great p.b potential. The announcer was first class cheering everyone in and making a great scene. Very friendly organisation and top class run.. 100% I will be back Date of review: September 29, 2013
In short: Flat. So very flat. In full: Good to know the organisers listened to last year's comments - the post race tea van was very welcome. The reason this is one of my all time favourites? I've run it twice and got a pb twice. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of scenery for the speed of the course. Date of review: October 3, 2012
In short: Good for a PB In full: Could possibly have been signposted better as it was tucked away a bit. Only a small race but maybe a couple more portaloos would have been better. That said the course is nice and flat and is great PB potential. Not a great race but one I would consider doing again. Date of review: October 2, 2012
