In short: Easy on the eyes, but not easy on the ankles!
In full: This is one of the best races I have ever done. It is extremely challeging and the hills are tough enough that you are working all the way, but not quite tough enough to justify walking- the cruellest kind of hills! Organisation was excellent and the briefing was thorough if not a little startling (it contained the phrase: some parts may be described as trechorous!") As for the route itself, there were lots of stiles and tricky bits to negotiate. One part was extremely uneven and so a PB was out of the question. Although it was not the most comfortable of Suday mornings I have had, the course was brilliantly designed and the scenery made it interesting every bit of the way, and managed to (slightly) take the edege of the toughest hills. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wanted a challenging 10k, but I would definitely NOT reccommend to anyone hunting a PB.

In short: Scenic off road event. Well organised and well marshalled.
In full: Good start venue. The safety breifing at the start amused me, I would never have expected the ground to be rough when running across fields! Having said that the breifing was thorough. Nice to start on the flat then down hill to warm up the legs. A moderate hill (for the area) before a descent and a bit of a road section. The next section involved a climb and a traverse of a slope which was a bit hard on the ankles. The onto the top of a ridge with splendid views. The final section was through drove tracks.
Overall a well organised event with plenty of marshals and a good atmosphere. I'll be back next year.
