In short: Monotonous and not well organised. Has so much potential with the right organisation behind it. In full: What this race needed was a running club behind it. It was so obviously organised by non-runners. It should have been publicised and promoted a lot more - this would have resulted in more participants and more spectators (it was lacking in crowd support). None of the facilities were open, apart from an outside toilet block, so there was nowhere to congregate before or after the race. It occured to me that I was running in a charity fun run but had NO IDEA which charity??? There was no charity publicity there at all. A real shame that such a high profile venue missed out on a real money spinner and self-promotion by allowing this somewhat non-event to be organised to such a low standard. They need to get their PR team and a local running club involved if it's going to become a regular event. Date of review: October 25, 2011

In short: Amateur Hour Organisation In full: Only my second race (Bristol Half 2010), and therefore first grass race... its different in a good way! Organisation was poor, with vague instruction on where start was, and the organiser/steward shouting out course instructions which were barely audible over wind! Low quality medal/T-Shirt. Good mix of 'proper runners' (I was lapped!) and plodders like me. All said and done, it was only £10 - not particularly bad vfm in my opinion, and I'd probably do it again. In short: Poorly organised In full: Facilities were poor, no changing rooms or showers. No start point was marked and racers were moved backwards an unmeasured distance after collecting for the race start, the distance markers were also inaccurate. Results are still not up 36 hours after the race despite being less than 200 runners, the t-shirts and medals were of quite poor quality. this race did not justify the entry fee. In short: Uninspiring race In full: Disappointing race as thought the racecourse would have been fun, except we weren't allowed to run on the racecourse itself, only around the outside of the perimeter fencing. No course map details, no start indication. Moved an arbitrary distance at the start after everyone was in position. Km markers not in correct place and finish area a shambles. No proper finish line - many runners were running on asking if they had finished! Medals had to be fished out of a plastic bag on the floor while t-shirts were dumped in a heap on wet grass.. did a good time, but this race lacks the details and atmosphere to make it worth coming back. In short: Great location and fun morning out, could have done better with the organisation. In full: My fiance and I entered this race and we both really enjoyed it. 3 lap race around Bath Racecourse was relatively flat and really good cross country terrain. The race could have been better organised. For example signs on the drive into the racecourse, signs to show where the start was, generally more information on the course and what was going on. The marshals were all really friendly and helped us find our way around and cheered us on - which was appreciated. This is a cross country race, all on grassy flat terrain so trail shoes or xc spikes are the best type of footwear to ensure you don't slip. It was a dry day, but if it was raining, spikes would have been essential. Overall a fun afternoon out and a cheap race to enter. Has the potential to be a great cross country 10k if the organisation is sorted out for next year. Date of review: October 24, 2011

In full: poorly organised, no one seemed to know where to start and when we were lined up were told to move back. it was late starting and distance markers were not in the right place. finish line was a shambles, no one to hand out water, medals and t shirt. a day later and still no results. could have been so much better. In short: Very poorly organised - save your money and run in the park In full: RW web entry and e-mail on Thursday both promised changing area and showers. Neither were actually available. Start was moved at last minute! Distance markers all over the place, 5k was nearer 6 in my opinion. Who knows if the total distance was anywhere near 10k? Very shoddy organisation and still no results. Poor quality very cheap medal without the race and date marked on it and a very poor T-shirt. Probably the worst organised race I have ever ran (and have done over 30). I'll not be back to this or any other organsied by that crew. Stick to events organised by runners and not some chap who clearly just thought this was a way to cash in. Date of review: October 24, 2011

In short: Not as well organised as hoped, grass could have been cut to make it easier. An easy medal to get but you won't be getting a pb anytime soon Date of review: October 24, 2011
