In short: Nice weekend away playing in the mud :-) In full: Hard but lot of fun. Mud and and hills were draining so glad I stuck with the 10k (10 mile was apparently same obstacle course with an extra 4 miles of hill running). Was apprehensive beforehand about the electric shock obstacle but it was nothing, Spartan Race was much more evil! Great camaraderie and teamwork helps make the event special. Agree with other comment that making you pay £5 to park in a field when the race entry fee was £50 is taking the mick. Also I was a bit disappointed not to get a medal - I felt I earnt it! (even more disappointed when the firs time I washed my race t shirt the writing on the back has started to peel off) Make it into a girlie weekend away so did it as a one off (5.5 hour drive to get there) - glad I've done it once but also don't feel the need to have another go. Next day found some massive bruises and cuts/scrapes which I always find rather satisfying after an obstacle race :-) Date of review: October 26, 2012

In short: Mud mud mud mud mud In full: Positive - Great fun, good teamwork with other competitors, and if you like getting muddy you'll like it a lot. Plenty of obstacles - hot coals with fire, crawling through mud (x about 5), tunnels, monkey bars, lots of water obstacles, watery slide, etc. You won't get bored. Tshirt and buff at the end. Well organised with plenty of marshalls and admin staff. It is tough. Im usually a 46min 10k runner and with my team of four we did it in 1hr48.
Negative - cost. I paid just under £50. Others signed up last week for more like £90. I can understand why it would be more expensive than a normal road race or fell/trail race (obstacles and insurance) but its £50! There are quality fell races out there which cost from £1! Perhaps a tshirt AND a buff is unnecessary... Slight feeling in my gut that someone's taking the mickey and getting away with it, which brings me to... Car parks. You pay through the nose for an event and then get told its a fiver to park in a field. A fiver. I won't say anymore.
Overall it's very positive, and if you can afford it then do it at least once. Date of review: August 4, 2012

In short: Hard course, awful weather but still a great atmosphere... especially after a free beer! Date of review: March 31, 2012

In short: The only time it's ever taken me nearly 2 hours to run 10K, but *SO* much fun! In full: Total Warrior was probably one of the most fun things that I have ever done! If you are bored of normal 10K races and don't want to have to spend your weekends churning out miles for a half or full marathon - this is the race for you!
I loved wading through streams and boggy muddy areas, helping my fellow warriors to climb over 7 foot walls and the biggest slip and slide ever!
Such an amazing atmosphere - sure we were all racing, but it was expected and encouraged to help your fellow competitors get over obstacles which made for an amazing feeling of team spirit.
Loved the goody bag and tshirt and free pint at the end, but would have loved a medal too! Lovely scenery and really well organised. I ran with a friend who wasn't quite as fit as me so I held myself back, but it was a lot of fun as we laughed around the course falling over in the mud! Our families that were watching us really enjoyed this race too as they got to see more of us rather than just at the start and finish and loved seeing us attempt the obstacles.
