In short: Fantasically well organised with friendly encouraging marshalls. In full: What a brilli8nt race, well organised, friendly encouraging marshalls - there was hundreds of em- no chance of getting lost with the arrows sign posting the course. Seemed like 10 miles rather than 10k but a fantastic cross country course. - will be back next year and bring half my club with me. Date of review: December 3, 2012

In short: Tough course, everyone very friendly, lovely refreshing Sunday morning run. In full: Thanks to everyone involved with organising this run, this is the second time I have done it & enjoyed the testing route. Plenty of friendly, encouraging marshalls even though it was cold & in some places ice so thanks to them all. Lovely mug as finishing prize, well worth the entry fee. Date of review: December 3, 2012

In short: A great way to spend Sunday morning. Better that ironong. In full: As a local and run the route regularly in training I had no problems in finding the place or picking the right shoes to wear. Above comments though are fair and hopefully the race organiser will take them on board. I know he is keen to make the race a success. The icing on the cake as always for me is to relive the race through Bryan Dale's race photos, which I always download for free for my race dairy. Thank you Bryan. http://www.racephotos.org.uk Be back next year. Date of review: December 13, 2011

In short: Wish I'd purchased some trail shoes .... In full: Apart from my lack of trail shoes mainly because I'm too tight to part with my moolah for one race , this race is indeed an excellent end to the years running , some challenging hills and muddy footpaths to tackle but it's all well worth it on a super course !! Excellently run and marshalled and I'll indeed be back next year. Date of review: December 9, 2011

In short: Very hilly In full: An enjoyable hilly race a good one to break the virginity of my new trail running shoes. Getting there was a bit of a nightmare as I wasn't a local and the first post code just took me to Newcastle and my sat nav didn't like the second one but found it with time to spare. Car parking a little confusing but no major hassle. The race itself was extremely hilly but plenty of marshalls and some spectators braving the weather to cheer us on. A nice t-shirt and a Saucony wallet in my goody bag, nice touch. I had a small breakfast and a tea after the race for the bargain price of £3.30 at the visitor centre. I'll probably be back next year but more prepared for the hills. Date of review: December 4, 2011

In short: Challenging course and very well organised In full: This is very well organised event. Race marshalls were plentiful, friendly and very helpful even guiding me into my car parking space. The 10K route is challenging in places, notably the hills at the start and finish. The weather was drizzly and this made it quite slippery and muddy underfoot so I'd recommend trail shoes.
Overall, brilliant, I can't wait for next year. Date of review: December 4, 2011
