In short: Well organised, great route, friendly, did the 30 mile and will be back!! In full: A great first ultra for me over the 30 mile route (31.1) with a variety of surfaces under foot and very little tarmac. The route is quite challenging but nothing there to be frightened of. Well organised and very friendly, the route was well marked although a little revision beforehand helped massively, with enough checkpoints for water and encouragement. Warm food at the village hall at the finish was most welcome! Will look to do the 40 mile next year. Date of review: November 26, 2011

In short: Great atmosphere, well organised, challenging but not over the top In full: The organisation was good and the numbers small enough to iron out the first time gliltches and its a must for next year. Great food in the village hall after! Back for the 30 mile next year I think Date of review: November 21, 2011

In short: Tough first past Marathon Distance, but worth the extra miles. In full: I'd originally signed up for the 40 miles, but as usual life gets in the way of training and am I glad it did, I wouldn't have fancied running the last few miles in the dark!
The run was brilliant, made more so by the company I tagged along with, Cheers Rabbi. (or spoiled their boys day out as I was told!)
Small field as it's the first time it's been run, but hopefully this will grow as it's a beautiful place to run around and not too daunting for a newbie like me.
Cheers to the organisers for this one, maybe some sort of memento for finishing would have been nice, but I am a hoarder so I collect tat!

In short: Beautiful scenery, friendly atmosphere In full: I did the 13 mile course. This was my 1st proper trail race. It was well marked, only a few places where you had to stop and have a good look for the markers. My only other gripe would be that when I registered they had run out of maps. Overall there was a really friendly atmosphere. The course was one of the most scenic Ive ever run. The terrain was challenging as you'd expect. I really enjoyed the variety of the terrain. Id very happily do it again.

In short: Great run, well organised and very friendly In full: I did the short run (13 miles) and I really enjoyed the route. It was a glorious morning so the views were great and varied terrain made the run really interesting. The organisers and other runners were all very friendly. The only minor issue was the lack of water on the route. I think it was there but not exactly offered or made clear it was there. On the whole this event gets ***** rating from me.
