In short: Fantastic race with excellent organisation
In full: I ran the 2012 race, and it was my favourite race of the year. The weather was nice on the day, although the ground was very wet, and not having trail running shoes made things difficult!

However, the race was so much fun, in a beautiful location. There are only two big uphill sections, one at the very start and one at the very end, with the rest being mainly undulating terrain. Croome park is beautiful, and was a joy to run around. There weren't that many hardcore runners there, so you didn't feel intimidated by the competition, and the small number of entrants (250 is the maximum they allow) meant it wasn't too crowded at the start.

The final uphill at the end is a killer, but by this time you're so near the end, it's not too tough. The goody bag was very good for an event like this, with a bottle of water, packet of crisps, mars bar, banana, bottle of water, brownie and a medal, as well as a free cup of tea or coffee back at the start.

I loved this run, couldn't fault it in any way, and hope to do it again some day.

In short: Excellent course - my first off roader! Well organised too
In full: The course was very good - the limited size field was just about right. Only 1 bottle neck i encountered for about 100 yards at the top of the first hill. Scenery was lovely - course a variety of hills, footpaths, woodland trails and a few private roads. Last 150m up the hill was the only killer!!!
Very well organised well done to the team

In short: Great event, good scenery and support. Thank you
In full: I had heard about this event last year when someone else from my club ran it and reported on our website. It looked good so I looked out for it. I really enjoyed the run. There were some climbs, but also some good downhills as well. Very runnable.

In short: Absolutely wonderful race. Glorious scenery.
In full: My first time here. I will be entering every year Black Pear put it on. The course is in a wonderful setting, Beautiful crisp, sunny morning. It was very well organised, marshals were brilliant and encouraging, local club runners were very welcoming . I really loved everything about this race.

In short: Fantastic views and a lovely varied course.
In full: As last year the marshaling was very good and and really enthusiastic. The course is always interesting and varied.

A couple of requests for next year:

1. It would be nice if the results list included the club names where applicable

2. Just after the start at the top of the hill there is a gate with deep ruts and then there were a line of very small cones near the church. With everyone still in a big group at that point you couldn't easily see either and someone tripped over a cone in front of me.

We may have been warned about these before the start but the loud-hailer used wasn't in fact very loud and couldn't be heard above the wind.

All in all a lovely race and a lot of fun!

Oh yes and one more thing... it was nearer 11km than 10!

In short: Wonderfully scenic -Just as good as I remembered from last year.
In full: This is a great race with lots of friendly marshalls helping you round a challenging course. One minor gripe - I couldn't see the point of sending an SAE when the numbers are distributed on the day.
