In short: Hills, mud, picture-postcard scenery
In full: Well organised and marshalled. Fun for the kids with a race chasing Santa.
The race itself welcomed all abilities including some Nordic Walkers, and also allowed dogs so I ran with my husky.
Be under no illusions, this course is hard and is truly multi-terrain. Surfaces varied from grass to gravel to mud. There were two large climbs. The husky enjoyed the run, particularly as there were plenty of puddles and pond to swim in.
The distribution of goody bag before the start meant a long walk back to the carpark.
Nice friendly race, though a touch pricy for what it was. We shall be back.

In short: very tough, muddy, organisation bit back to front but terrific challenging course all for a christmas bauble!
In full: A great location for a run. The conditions made for a wet muddy course. Running through wet grassy fields. not too bad along estate tracks but off path the going was muddy and slow with a horrible climb half way around. Our rest was sprinting down the grassy vally for approx 2km! Then another climb out uphill to the finish which was just over 9k not quite 10k. Unusually the goodie bag was handed out before at registration meaning a trek back to car and back to start. Memento was a Christmas bauble reindeer emblazed upon it! Enjoyed mince pie after. Ill wear trail shoes next time!
