In short: Roll on next year.
In full: I absolutely loved this race, it's right on my doorstep and its a real test for a short race. I last did it 30 yrs ago when it was a bit easier but I was only 12 and there were no junior races as there are now. It was great to see so many kids there along with my little boy who also really enjoyed his race.
Thanks to all the marshals and organisers who make these races happen.

In short: Wet, wet,wet and uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill, uphill, downhill!
In full: Not done this race for serveral years. I seem to remember long, hot steep hills many times. Not this year. The wettest race I've ever done. I was in a running tee shirt and was still cold. Much respect to those in vest/shorts. Absolutly soaked to the skin but really enjoyed it! Grit your teeth to get up those long steep hills. Last one was a bit overgrown and my laces came undone and enjoy the long, grass downhills, nice bit of grip, before a long flat sprint to finish. Thanks to all the marshals out on the course. Heros the lot of you! Must pencil in for next year already.

In short: Tough climbs, great scenery(when not misty!), great organisation
In full: 1st time at this race and ran it after running in the Devil run at Hindhead earlier in the day. Butser challenge is tough, but rewarding, even more so when the weather is better. Great to see so many Schools and children getting involved, particularly in the really poor weather this year(2012).

All credit to the organisers, marshalls, helpers and the musicians for providing musical accompeniment in such harsh weather conditions.

I'd definitely recommend this race, although i did clock it as just over 5 miles accoring to garmin watch, which is one of the more accurate models.

Put this event in your respective diaries for next year.

Thanks again to all involved in putting on and helping with this event.

Great!

Keep on enjoying the freedom & simplicity of running.

In short: Hills, rain, mud and even mist....excellent!!
In full: Good race in torrential rain making tough hills even more slippy. View through the mist on top was still worth it! A really good course and well done to all marshalls who braved the wind and the rain, at least I was able to run as fast as possible towards the warm car!

In short: Uphill madness
In full: 1st time doing the Butser Hill Challenge, completed in about 64 minutes, didn't run as much a I'd hoped for. About half way up first climb I realised quite how unprepared I was!! Lol. However really enjoyed the challenge, weather was amazing rain, hail, strong wind and mist on top of hill - soaked to the skin by the end. Chatted to a few people on the run and seemed good cameradery for all runners. Already thinking about coming back next year. It was so wet though that the starters gun misfired twice..
