In short: Finally a fitted t-shirt
In full: Bring yourself and enough fuel to enjoy one of the most scenic routes in the south. Organisation is very low-key but works, hills are rolling rather than sharp but nevertheless tough, views are fantastic and the sun is just a little bit too hot. 3rd time for me and I will be back.

In short: Great race
In full: Many thanks to the race director(s) and marshalls who made this a superbly-organised race - the race directions were spot on, and water-stations friendly and supplied with unlimited water - very welcome in yesterday's heat - plus showers & changing facilities for afterwards. The course itself was pretty tough - lots of uphill stretches on the way back, that I could have sworn were only flat on the outward leg, and the heat obviously didn't help. But great scenery, and sense of achievement once finishing. At only £10 or £12, this was superb value for money - well done and thanks to all involved in putting this on.

In short: The South Downs are beautiful!
In full: Stunning route - very friendly - nice low key organisation which worked well. Got a bit lost at Rodmell which was slightly annoying, as I'd been warned about it. The heat was very difficult to handle having gone from winter to high summer overnight! I found it tough and the extra 4 miles gruelling in the heat. Loved it overall though!

In short: tough but beautiful
In full: great run, gorgeous views across the South Downs and surrounding area, good signage when needed.

Very good value, and increadibly friendly organisers/volunteers. Thanks for making it a lovely day out. Next time though can you turn down the thermostat a few degrees please?

In short: Nice low key event, but hard as nails
In full: Second attempt at this for me after DNF last year with a torn calf. Managed to finish this year but much slower than expected as really struggled with the heat. I'm local so know the route well (although it didn't stop me taking a detour at Rodmell, missing a footpath), it's lovely, although several very long & hard climbs in both directions, but more so on the way back on this out and back route (beware). Nice informal start, refreshments available, only two aid stations (you must carry water), both 'minimalist' but fine. Souvenir T-shirt included, so an absolute bargain at £10 entry. Will come back next year and hope to cope a bit better - many thanks to all at HHH for a nice day out.
