In short: It hurts !!!!!
In full: This is the first year that it has been run by Blacksheep. They advertised this as 9 miles, other runners have said it was over 8 miles! The change of course was a surprise; in a funny way I missed the lakes which in previous years has killed me and where one runner lost the sole of his shoe some years back!

My time was an improvement of over 8 minutes, so either I am fitter, the course faster, or the course shorter!

Still its a local race, which is cheap, and held in some beautiful countryside.

Look forward to next year...

In short: Good Race But!
In full: Have run this race twice before and the change of course has made it slightly easier but still a good challenge.
No indication of water stations & poorly manned. Given a raffle ticket for bagage area (where was I supposed to put it during the race) but baggage unattended at end of race so had to help myself! Prize giving started by finish area with tail enders still crossing the line. Don't want to moan but few things need sorting to get this race back to high standard of previous years.

In short: A very well organised trail run with 2 MEGA hills and lots of wonderful trail.
In full: I entered this race and although it was a good 40 minute drive it was well worth it, great organisation, well marshaled, and nice mug and mars bar at the end. I've done some tough runs but this was the toughest, enter at your peril.

In short: not as muddy as has been
In full: have run all mayhill massacres and this was the easiest with change in course, it was still very scenic but without the bit by the lakes felt it lacked the real leg killing sting will likely return as it is local to me
