In short: Wet In full: First time on this route ,after running Huddersfield 10k in Feb which was really hard,i enjoyed this route undulating but not to much you want to die equal ups to downs .was looking forward to the scenery but sadly the torrential rain made views and conditions tough going.very friendly and hats off to the very supportive marshals in that weather. Finished 3rd so will be back next time to improve, only gripe received a voucher for a free run but it can only be used this year, a full year or free pass for next years event would be better.
In short: An enjoyable race, despite the weather! In full: Even the dreadful weather failed to put a dampener on this fun race. The course was undulating country lanes (not closed to traffic), and the scenery would have been spectacular but for the torrential rain! A fairly small field made it a bit lonely at times, but the marshalls were supportive as well as the few spectators who braved the elements. T-shirt was ok (not tech) & no goody bag/medal/chip timing etc, but that's reflected in the low entry price. Organisation was good, although the walk to the start line in the sideways rain wasn't much fun. Overall, an enjoyable race with a good friendly mix of competitors, and just enough hills to make it a challenge. Date of review: March 29, 2015
