In short: Great first half marathon
In full: This was my first half marathon and I'd read good things, it really doesn't disappoint.

The route is very clever, the 2 loops through the town at the start with all the roads lined by supporters are a really nice way to start and absolutely fly by.

It then goes into a rural area that isn't glorious scenery but passes through some nice little villages with friendly support and lots of friendly people handing out water and jelly babies.

The course gently undulates but I only found I really noticed it towards the end of the race coming back into the town.

Organisation was brilliant, a good number of loos, didn't make people wait for ages, good caller at the finish line.

This just seemed so much more smooth than the 10Ks I've done and I will be back next year without a doubt. Happy with my first half marathon time of 1h38 and hopefully I can knock some time from that in 2013. Strongly recommended, well done to all the organisers.

In short: Quick road course with interesting scenery
In full: Smaller than I expected but this actually made it a much friendly feel. Course was surprisingly varied in scenery and hillier than I'd been told. Still managed a PB though. One complaint was lack of water available at the start!

In short: The countryside is lovely to run through, but water was served in plastic cups, there isn't much support and be warned, there are a lot of undulations to take it out of your legs

In short: Top run in beautiful weather
In full: Really enjoyed this Half. Being my local it was a must for my 13 years absences from running Halfs. Well organised and very well supported on course! Agree with the drinks scenario. Did'nt plan on using their drinks, but it was very warm. Spent majority of the drink on my head, glad i sipped them first as i ended up with an electrolyte drink at one point! Could have been sticky! Love the medal too!

In short: Excellent pre-London event for all levels
In full: An excellently organised event with fantastic marshalls from start to finish, not forgeting the baggage tent which was superbly staffed.

Plenty of loos although most people did not see those at the end of the baggage tent for a while ... which took the pressure of my vist (TMI - sorry).

The course does go up and down quite a bit, however the support through Fleet is noisy for all the right reasons and the localised pockets around the course equally so.

I found the energy drinks at miles 9 & 11 by accident as I wanted water both times and it was definitely a case of bleurrgh-OMG that was so sweet! so maybe they can be flagged more clearly to all runners.

I chose this race over my local event - Reading-as it was cheaper and fitted better with my spring marathon plans and it was easy enough to park within a few minutes of the start without any hassle.

Well done to all at Fleet & Crookham.

In short: Flat ! What a relief there is no releif !
In full: Super event, great route and super marshals all the way around, THANK YOU. The goody bag was a bit light, but other than that, faultless. Thanks to the organisers, a super event for the racing snakes and the determined tortoises.
