In short: SUPERB!!
In full: This is my favourite run. Sets you up nicely for the London Maratthon as i feel that if you can tackle the hills the flat marathon will be less of a challenge. Brilliantly organised all round can't fault it. Friendly and fantastic

In short: Does just what it says on the tin
In full: An excellent, no fuss event that sets you up for London. Great scenery and route, with a nice amount of shade on a bright day.

Supportive and plentiful marshalling - and smashing piece of cake at the end

In short: A great experience for my first 20 miler....
In full: I have attended 2 of the organised Gade Valley marathon training runs now and both have been a really great day.

The 20 mile course is quite challenging with some nice long hills to take on whilst enjoying the lovely views around Ashridge.

It was a very well organised event for only a small fee. Water stops every 4 miles with the famous Jelly baby stop being a highlight at 17 miles. I would also like to thank the random marshall who chucked me a bottle of his daughters fruit Shoot to help me through the last mile!! what a bonus.

In short: Excellent run before a marathon. Have now done the series of marathon runs 4 times and first tick of the box to run these training runs if thinking of running a marathon

In short: Great marathon training run well organised and friendly. Course is challenging as well with a few hills which will only help the training. Will be running training runs next year. Well Done GVH!!!

In short: 2nd Timer, even better this year
In full: This is simply an amazing event. Challenging due to the hills, but with that comes the knowledge that any flat Marathon is going to feel easy in comparison.

Marshalls are amazing, cheery throughout. Drinks stations are simple, well spaced and organised.

Just a really friendly atmosphere. The course was better this year, the small 3 mile loop was better placed towards the end.

I'll be back next year.

In short: probably as enjoyable as a 20 mile run can be!
In full: really good value, friendly marshalls and free tea and cake. I have done the 17 mile one twice before but not 20. The hill at 12 miles was tough especially finding you had to do it again in a few miles but really well organised and good to start people in small groups to prevent bunching/bottle necks on the steps and tow path.Well done to Gade Harriers.

In short: Wonderful Day Out - Organised for Runners by Runners, and it showed!
In full: I can only agree with all the sentiments in reviews so far. You could tell that everyone involved in this event was passionate about running. The route took in some challenging hills, spectacular spring scenery and had helpful and fun marshals. £5 entry and a cake and cup of tea to reward everyone at the end - you'd be hard pushed to beat that for value. First time I've run one of the Gade Valley events, and based on this year's experience I can assure you it won't be the last. Well done.
