In short: Amazing training run - well marshalled and organised - for £5!!! In full: This was amazing - it had everything a race has except the chip timing (or any kind of timing). It's very well organised - staggered starts mean there is no hold up on the canal tow path stretch. Water stations every 4 miles and jelly babies handed out at mile 17. Tea, sports drinks and cakes at the end. An absolute steal at £5 - well done Gade Valley Runners, and thank you for a lovely day. Date of review: March 23, 2014
In short: The best thing you can do with £5 In full: Really well organised and extremely satisfying. A race that has it all, without even being a race. It's a shame GVH don't put these on throughout the year. Date of review: March 23, 2014
In short: The final long run of the training... a lovely morning out! In full: This was the last LSR of the campaign. I didn't enjoy the first hill but the rest were fine.. I looked at it as a really good training run. Lovely friendly marshalls. Lovely jelly babies! I ran without my water bottle just to see what would happen.. the drinks stations were too spread out so I know I need to run the marathon with my bottle, but I'm glad I tried. I'd definitely do this again. Thanks Gade Valley Harriers - you're a great club! Date of review: March 23, 2014
In short: SUPERB!! In full: This is my favourite run. Sets you up nicely for the London Maratthon as i feel that if you can tackle the hills the flat marathon will be less of a challenge. Brilliantly organised all round can't fault it. Friendly and fantastic Date of review: March 31, 2012
In short: A great experience for my first 20 miler.... In full: I have attended 2 of the organised Gade Valley marathon training runs now and both have been a really great day.
The 20 mile course is quite challenging with some nice long hills to take on whilst enjoying the lovely views around Ashridge.
It was a very well organised event for only a small fee. Water stops every 4 miles with the famous Jelly baby stop being a highlight at 17 miles. I would also like to thank the random marshall who chucked me a bottle of his daughters fruit Shoot to help me through the last mile!! what a bonus. Date of review: March 26, 2012
In short: Excellent In full: A very challenging 20 miler, but superbly organised very friendly atmosphere with a great cup of tea and cake afterwards, all for a fiver - best value run anywhere Date of review: March 26, 2012
In short: Excellent run before a marathon. Have now done the series of marathon runs 4 times and first tick of the box to run these training runs if thinking of running a marathon Date of review: March 26, 2012
In short: Great marathon training run well organised and friendly. Course is challenging as well with a few hills which will only help the training. Will be running training runs next year. Well Done GVH!!! Date of review: March 26, 2012
