In short: Tough but well worth it.
In full: This is a wonderful event. Unusually for an ultra race the course is fully marked. The scenery is gorgeous throughout and the organisation is superb. It's tough to grind out the last few miles but the sense of achievement you get is well worth it.

In short: Fantastic!
In full: It was a great day out. The route is tough (for me) but the sceney and challenge of running 40miles in the Peaks more than compensates. The helpers and the organisation are fantastic.

In short: Who turned the wind on!
In full: Great experience from start to finish, had a tough time about 13-14 miles but soon picked up again from 18 to finish strongly (relative term).
The wind was a bit tough in sections which reduced me to a snails pace diminishing my hopes of sub 8.
Bill and his team at High Peaks 40 should all be proud great race/event.

In short: Extremely Tough
In full: The furthest I'd ever raced was half marathon and they're flat as a pancake compared to this.
So this was quite a challenge!
For me the course was brutally hard but there were some good flat bits in the second half.
Got chatting to some runners on route and they helped me through it.
Marshall's were fantastic and very supportive. The markers were good except in a few key places were I went the wrong way.
This was my first race over ½ marathon and just managed to finish under 8 hours.

In short: A scenic challenge
In full: This superbly organised ultra is a must do. This scenery is gorgeous, surprising and varied; the atmosphere friendly and supportive and the marshalls encouraging, especially when you most need it.

In short: A wonderful race
In full: This event is a credit to the organisers. The route is tough but scenic. The organisation is spot on and the check point staff are brilliant. If I only did one event each year this would be it!
