In short: Great race; nice route; smooth organisation
In full: The 30th running of this event and it's easy to see why it goes from strength to strength. Good sized field; nice goody bag and technical T shirt, well marshalled and good value.
Slightly different start point this year, to take advantage of the facilities at D & G College (no queues for loos).
Running on quiet country roads South of Dumfries, with a slightly challenging longish hill at 5 miles, good flat finish on the cycle path beside the River Nith, whilst the country road mean few spectators, the marshalls were full of encouragement throughout. Bit of a walk from the finish back to the start and car park, which I like as it lets you stretch off a bit, although there was a bus transfer available I'm not sure if people knew this was available.
This is my local 1/2, but it's exactly the size and type of event I like, friendly, good scenery not too busy, I'll be back next year.

In short: Sponsored by Jelly Baby!
In full: Brilliantly organised race and when the starter said that every marshall would have jelly babies he wasn't fibbing! The marshalls were fantastic and the day made all the better with a PB. A special thank you to the chap on the bike who stopped for a chat at 12miles and to hand out yet more jelly babies! I can imagine this is a little too fast for beginners to half marathons but it is a fantastic race and I will be back again. Water stations were about 1 mile more than stated in the pre-race blurb but other than that a fab day. Thank you to Dumries Running Club.

In short: Well organised, friendly marshallers, plenty of parking, reasonably priced.
In full: A well organised race with helpful, friendly marshallers. Plenty of parking at the start (and toilets) made this a hassle-free start. The finish line was a short walk from the finish so again hassle-free to get back to the car. The route was mainly flat with a few hills scattered throughout the course. Certainly one for the calendar. Very enjoyable.

In short: Well Worth a trip over the border
In full: The 200 miles I travelled to run this race was well worth the effort. The organisation in every areas that are required to stage a half marathon was first class.Every little detail had been catered for even down to the free biscuits and hot drinks at the finish, highly recommended.
