In short: Scenic Village that somehow fits in a 10K route. It's like the Tardis In full: OK - this is for the 2015 race. I couldnt see a page for it.
The move to March means its a bit cooler for racing - so you have to run faster to keep warm. A 2 lapper worked well with no problem overtaking on the second lap. Great medal, teeshirt and goody bag - so that's nice. Very twisty course but surprisingly fast. Well worth a trip to race and spend time in the Village after.
In short: exellent event in a special setting In full: Luckily the race was completed between showers. Good organisation and parking facilities. Overall nothing to complain about.Plaudits all around. Nice wicking t-shirt and solid well designed medal with a goody bag which owed a lot to Unilever? My wife who was a spectator due to injury is already nattering me to enter again next year. What more can I say? Date of review: May 12, 2014
In short: How did they cram a 10k into such a small village ? In full: Man its a twisty turny event - but that does mean you get to see just about all of Port Sunlight. No chance to get bored at all. A great event and just the finish needs sorting out - I tried to do another lap despite the marshalls telling me the right lane to take. My brain doesnt work when I'm racing. And a reception in a pub after - very impressive indeed ! Date of review: June 19, 2013
In short: Wonderful course to run around, excellent support and also fun! In full: 2nd year that I have run this course and feel the course layout was better in some areas but a bit of a squeeze in others. The 5k runners made the first lap very congested but the 2nd lap was more like it. Looking forward to enrolling my little girl in the 1k fun run next year! Date of review: May 30, 2013
In short: The start would benefit from timing pens. Good course for the runners and great for spectators but running a 5k and 10k on a two lap course was a mistake! That said the scenery is excellent. A good event..... Date of review: May 23, 2013
In short: Great race, but did prefer it last year In full: Enjoyed this run. Second time I've run a PB here. Nice and flat. Start a bit crazy. Too many people for a funnel start. And you always get people over estimating their ability, the race organisers know that and should take that into consideration. Quite pricey, but worth it for the run. Goodies at the end not much to write home about. Personally I also preferred last year's route. Port Sunlight is a brilliant place to have a race. Date of review: May 23, 2013
