In short: Great race and brilliant finish
In full: One of my first half marathons and still one of my favourites. I lived in Reading at the time so the roads were all familiar. Reading isn't too exciting but the course makes the best of the town and the finish in the Madejski Stadium is spectacular. I don't understand people complaining that they were "always on a slight incline". That's physically impossible in a race which starts and finishes in the same place. Besides hills are a part of running. If you aren't pushing yourself a bit there's no point..

In short: More drink please!
In full: The course felt like I was on a shallow incline for much of the race, a few good views and excellent crowd support.
I was disappointed with the number of drinks stations, especially in the early and final miles.
I went back to meet my brother and sister in law who were taking things easy for their first half, they'd run out of energy drinks for the slower guys. Plus, there were no medals or goodies for these finishers which is disappointing for such a big race.

In short: No medals?????
In full: Just read the other reviews, it is disgraceful that a lot of runners didn't get lucozade, a goodie bag and most importantly a prized medal. Don't get greedy Reading, you will become a victime of your own success. To the runners that didn't get their goodies, well done anyway, you are all heroes.

In short: A great half-marathon, runs like clockwork with great finish
In full: There's something special about finishing in front of a massive crowd in a football stadium - a great race, run really well by a good team, not impressed with the little loop around greenpark at the end, but great fun.
