In short: A really good local race - no frills!
In full: This is just a really good race! Excellent organisatio, fantastic marshalls, and good support all round the course! Nice to see that the entry money goes to the the St Michaels Hospice and is not wasted on needless goody bags. I would highly recomment this run and it is one of my favourite races!

In short: A wonderful event!
In full: I love this race. It's my favourite as it is a pure and simple event. No gimmicks,no celebs,no big prizes.A good mix of ages and experiences taking part in a pretty testing run.
The start was a bit tight and the potholes could have caused some trips so needs sorting for next year.Glad to see chip timing at last.
Marshalls and water stations as good as ever!Thank you! Support on the route seems to be growing too.
I'll be back next year!

In short: Well organised and managed Charity Half
In full: Ample facilities and parking makes a good start for this run.
The course has several ups in the first 3 miles, down for one, then 9 miles of undulations.
Four water stations, all with bottled water, is fantastic, and one just before halfway had Gu gels also.
All in all, a very good event, and whilst a PB may be a struggle here, it's a good course that I intend to do again.

In short: Good, undulating race, without the extras
In full: A good race, with good surface and a few hills, wasn't expecting a PB, but managed to shave off about 12 seconds. The start line didn't seem to be made very clear, but there was plenty of room at the front for faster runners to cut in, which I didn't expect since there were no time chips. Decent price at £14 non UKA, but might not have been thrilled to pay £20 on the day, since no food or medal at the end of the race. Noticed that there was an impressive amount of photos taken. Good, friendly marshalls. Parking was well organised. I'd like to see a junior race category, with a negligible prize, to encourage younger runners, although in general such a category rarely seems to exist.

In short: Deserves wider recognition
In full: The course is genuinely undulating, but since I squeaked a narrow PB I can't really complain too much. It's very scenic, through gorgeous countryside. Good level of support en route, well staffed at the leisure centre. The whole vibe is very laid back yet still efficient - I suppose after 30 years these guys know the ropes!
One quibble for me would be the mile markers - as with a depressingly large number of races nowadays, these were well out. I counted 6 or 7 miles that were either long or short, meaning that as I approached the last mile I had no clue where I was timewise. Still, nowhere near enough to spoil a cracking race for a great cause. Thanks!
