This is a huge team effort.

In short: Tough, tough and Tough!!!! In full: This was a tough one and was like running on the moon at times but incredibly rewarding. Many thanks to everyone for organizing a great event and before i forget a great little goodie bag for our efforts. Date of review: May 20, 2013
In short: Very Challanging but well worth it In full: This was my first Marathon, a baptism of fire to say the least. A great challenging course, well marshaled. Super goody bag, with a bottle of local beer and the free massage at the end was a god send (thou at times more painful than the race) Will be back Date of review: May 20, 2013
In short: Hard, steep, muddy (in places) but EXCELLENT! In full: The organisation and marshalling were first class - supportive and friendly. Getting access to the high hills of the china clay works, and the resulting views were a reward for the hard work running up there! Date of review: May 19, 2013
In short: Very tough but a really great race In full: What a fantastic race, well organised, great marshals, very interesting route but still I can't work out how so much of it was uphill and so little downhill !!!! A great day & one for the diary next year - hopefully Date of review: May 23, 2012
In short: Fantastic race ran mostly off road! In full: I signed up on the day & I wasn't disappointed! The race was really well organised and a bargain to enter with a great medal for finishers. The mainly off road course through the clay pits made it scenic and challenging in places. Don't let the 2 lap loop for the marathon put you off. Slight alterations in the 2nd lap kept it interesting so you weren't always retracing your steps. The marshals were friendly and encouraging - even on the 2nd lap! Hopefully the race will continue next year with more entrants for the full. Only 46 of us were tempted this year. Surely the word will soon get around what a great race this is and more runners will follow! Date of review: May 21, 2012
In short: A challenging course in a unique landscape In full: A tough course but one to be enjoyed for what it was. Fantastic marshalls all the way round (each one clutching a pasty) made up for a lack of spectators and all had something encouraging to say, especially on the lonely second lap after the half marathoners had disappeared. Plenty of water, energy drinks and sweets at regular intervals. I reckon the scenery was unlike anything you'd find anywhere else in this country-parts of it looked like a lunar landscape and the amazing views of Cornwall almost made up for the serious climbs. This is the first marathon I have ever done where a deer crossed my path-I also saw buzzards and wild ponies and heard a cuckoo ! Date of review: May 21, 2012
In short: Wow what a route, what an atmosphere, yes very tough but so different running on the closed clay pits. Great venue for start and finish, special atmosphere with the St Austell Town band present. Well done everyone, hope it goes again. Date of review: May 20, 2012
In short: Unique opportunity to off-road in places usually closed to the public In full: Organisers described the route as undulating, well first two miles there were no undulations it was uphill all the way. After that the downward undulations never seemed to match the upward ones! It was amazing route to run round the clay pits which in some places looked like another planet - amazing!
