In short: My home town race, love it.
In full: This is my local race & 3rd time I've ran it over this course. It is very tough, but at least it wasn't 30 degrees like last year. Great fun in the mud & hills. I'd forgotten again how tough the last 2 miles are on this course.

In short: Varied, tricky route .
In full: This course has a little bit of everything , road, hard trails, fields, muddy parts and hills.

Good atmosphere and nice views (once you got to the top of the various hills)
Smart tech t-shirt at the finish as well

In short: Lethal but Lovely
In full: A friendly and well-organised race but be warned! The course is extremely tough. Lots of steep climbs and some long sections which involved wading through brown sludge. Could've done with a canoe. Good atmosphere in the face of adversity though and some attractive trails.

I second the reviewer who suggested an additional water station -- or perhaps they could just use bottles. It was a pretty hot day and you don't get much fluid in a plastic cup. I don't want to detract from the organisers though. Special thanks to the marshal 8.5 miles in who gave me a sip of her coffee thermos when I was feeling dehydrated. And it's definitely a good idea to hold it in a rugby club - needed that shower afterwards!

In short: The first couple of miles don't prepare you for what's to come!
In full: A friendly well-organised race with lots of marshals out on the course offering words of encouragement. Incredibly tough though, once you hit the first long muddy trail, then the fields and farm tracks and the scramble up through the woods. Glad this wasn't my first race over this distance, and happy with my time and position - not a race to expect a PB on unless it happens to be your first 10 miler!

In short: Where is the warning that should come with this race?? Fantastic race , lovely marshalls but soooo hard...not for beginners or the fainthearted
In full: I have run a few marathons and many halves in my time but this 10 has to rate amongst the hardest runs I have done. Hilly and cross country, mud and hard tracks followed by long grass made it even harder. However, the marshalls were plentiful and friendly and encouraging and the course was scenic which always helps. My only real complaint is the lack of water stations as I feel I would really have benefitted from another station between mile 3 and 8, especially as it was so warm today...maybe next year another could be added?? Loved the tshirt and although it was hard I may well be back....

In short: Fantastic Race
In full: Really enjoyed this race. Great scenary, very well organised, and the marshalling was spot on. A big thank you to the gentleman from the rugby club who kept me going for the last 3 miles in bringing up the rear!

In short: Tough and mucky but great fun.
In full: This is NOT the race for PBs. The course is tough and multi-terrain it most certainly is. After mile three there was a good half mile of slippy mud - I got stuck and had to be pulled out! Following this there is hard uneven ground, hills and tricky trails. However, it is very well organised and the marshals were excellent. Not for the faint-hearted, but good fun and most runners were cheerful if a little worn out.
The weather was great today and the views were spectacular at times. Plus, with a good quality t-shirt at the end, this race is an absolute bargain. Well done BSRC!

In short: What a Great run - Thk U Stortford
In full: Used to do the Stortford 10M years ago but they changed the course and not for the better. Decided to give it another go this year, new-to-me course, Multi-terrain, and what an improvement!

Is now really a trail run, through lovely countryside, a bit more than undulating I'd say, and I just wish I'd worn my trail shoes, but even so, just a GREAT RUN!!!!

Good organisation, brilliant marshalling, best value run I've done in a long time(Techie t shirt at the end), all for a tenner!
