In short: Really well organised race with incredible atmosphere.
In full: Very difficult (especially if you're new to trail running) but all the marshalls, volunteers and fellow runners so supportive.

In short: A superb but very tough race in any weather. The mud made it especially challenging this year but added to the fun nonetheless.
In full: This was my 3rd running and I've enjoyed getting a new pb at every one. The mud made it especially challenging this year but added to the fun.
All the marshals were very friendly and the water stations were fantastic. The organisation is always superb and the race HQ is 2nd to none.
I would reccomend this race to anyone who likes a tough challenge and a fun race. I really trained on hills this year but nothing prepares you for how tough the hills are.
I'll be back again next year to try for another PB.

In short: Fabulous race, very challenging, made even more so this year with the mud. Usually it can be on a very hot day which presents its own challenges. Amazing support, all the way around, a real achievement to finish. Fab cakes, medal and T-shirt.
In full: My 3rd time at this race and I just know I'll be back next year, despite muttering 'never again' as I crossed the finish line.

Regular water stations, with energy drinks, jelly babies, sponges and very friendly faces.

In short: Brilliant race despite the mud and hills.
In full: This is the first time I've run this race despite marshalling for several years. Brilliant organisation and I must say a huge thank you to all the marshals for standing out in the rain waiting for us slower runners with a cheer and smile on their faces. Well done.

In short: Fab race - challenging but such fun!
In full: Tough, hilly and more mud than I ever knew exisited but I so loved this race. I'd decided to put enjoyment over pace and I couldn't have chosen a more beautiful and friendly race.

Marshals were wonderfully stoic standing in the pouring rain encouraging us along. Lots of jelly babies and the frequent water stations. It was great to have my name called out at the finish too.

Showers were provided to wash off the mud. Brilliant home baked delights were simply the icing on the cake!

In short: I said I wouldn't ever do it again...
In full: but now it's been 24 hours I can't wait till next years!
It does seem to be mainly a race for serious runners with their compression socks and ridiculous pace, but there is room available for those not as fast or fit.

I still cannot get over people who came in around the 2 hour mark as it's ridiculously unforgiving on the ground, especially with 6 inches of mud to slide about on, but good on them and one day I hope to get even a little close to where they are.

The scenery was beautiful, the water stations were plenty with excellent marshalls cheering you on. Completely recommend for the challenge and experience, although some people did take it far too serious, there were others who chatted to me and made me feel welcome (I was alone).

If you're debating about it, I'd say go and give it a try anyway!
