In short: Great atmosphere, good medal but probably not a PB course In full: I definitely need to get on with my hill training before the Basingstoke half in October - this is up and down all the way! This is a friendly well organised race: no chip timing but you don't need it for a race this small (around 120 finishers).
You get a good medal for your money and the course goes round some pleasant country lanes. Lots of very good club runners, but plenty of runners near the "relaxed" end as well. Marshals were encouraging and the facilities were good - no queues for loos and nice cake afterwards!
The one thing I would suggest is that they put a sign on the A3, as we drove past the turn-off on the way in. Most of the entrants were locals, but some like me were not so it would be really useful. Otherwise, great event. Date of review: June 16, 2013
In short: Nice local sunday morning jog :-) In full: Plenty of encouraging marshals, "undulating" countryside course kept it interesting, excellent race facilities (parking, changing, showers), good cakes and lovely medal. Great value for £8/£10 entry fee. Date of review: June 16, 2013

In short: Splendid friendly race In full: What a lovely race, ample parking and very organised number collection for those entering on the day. The morning was filthy weather though the rain stopped a few hours before the race luckily, this made for some road-width puddles in places but this just added to the challenge. The marshals were very encouraging, and the sweeper marshal ran with 2 dogs - a good incentive to keep moving else you'd get licked to death :) The finish was well organised with decent goodie-bag and medal. Good selection of home-made refreshments including cakes/cookies/flapjacks available and hot/cold drinks - in all a lovely 'family' race and most certainly one for the calendar in future.
