In short: Loved it! In full: Lovely Sunday morning run on forestry trails. Steady climb for 3.5m, gently rolling at the top with a fab exciting descent. Absolutely loved it! My son ran the kids race and thoroughly enjoyed it- he's still showing off the medal! Unfortunately I didn't see him finish as i was getting ready for the main race as it didnt kick off until 10.30. Ideally if it could start slightly earlier it would give more time before the main race to watch our children. Fab race-well done Ponty. Will be back next year .... Date of review: July 5, 2012

In short: Excellent Inaugural Event In full: Low key event for a Sunday morning training run, but ticked all the right boxes: decent toilets, ample free parking, refreshments for all, slick registration and great marshals.
Course is 3 miles uphill, 1 mile on the flat, and then 2 miles back down to the finish. On paper that sounds really tough, but the uphills were all runnable with a few flatter sections interspersed to give the quads a bit of a break. I personally would not recommend road shoes for this if you have weak ankles/core as a lot of the course is on very stony tracks with a lot of rocky outcrops. There is also a steep downhill gulley covered with loose rocks that was 'interesting' in road shoes. However, the final 400m is pure speed, I felt like Iwan Thomas sprinting for the line!!!
Great job Pontypridd Roadents will definitely be back next year. Date of review: July 1, 2012
