In short: Public Health Warning. This course is not flat.
In full: Garmin measured as 900ft of descent and 990ft of ascent, this course was not just very undulating, it was uphill. Putting that aside, I loved the venue, the organisation was great, and the atmosphere amongst the runners was superb.
I felt slightly miffed, as I'd travelled a long way to the event in the vain hope of a PB on a fast course, but walking off at the end having failed, I knew my body had been given one hell of a workout, the benefits of which will undoubtedly carry over to my next PB attempt.

In short: Lovely race - deserves a bigger turnout.
In full: Om a Bank Holiday Sunday with lots of attractive races, we ended up at this one because of the civilised start time and the inexpensive fun run for the children. Nice friendly well-organised event with the main race on pleasant little country roads. Significantly undulating without any individual killer hills. My one whinge is that I felt I deserved a medal at the end rather than just a cup of water ;o)

In short: A well organised and enjoyable run through some lovely Shropshire countryside
In full: Initially, what looked to be a rough afternoon in terms of weather actually turned out to be quite pleasant. About half an hour before start time, the heavens opened and it looked as if all we could look forward to was a dull and rainy afternoon. Aided by a gusty wind however, the clouds moved on quite quickly and with the exception of a couple of brief showers, the race field was blessed with blue skies and sunshine. Being a relative beginner to running, I began at the back of the field, which co-incidentally, is where I spent most of the race! The run itself however was enjoyable, clearly visible mile markers and information signs for both runners and motorists and plenty of assistance from a small army of marshalls. Perhaps with my being a newcomer to the sport, I still have to adapt to some of the terminology as I think I might have classed this as an undulating course rather than flat, (but perhaps I still have a lot to learn!) I finished just outside of my target time for the day but still left feeling pleased that I had participated in a very well run event and met some nice, friendly folk in the process!

In short: Nice venue, good course, but had a kick in the tail!
In full: The organisation and the venue were very good. A small field with mostly club runners, but friendly. The first 8 miles were great ... then it had a long, uphill slog for the final 2 miles ... glad no one could hear what I was muttering under my breath!! Once I recovered though, the lasting impression was that of an enjoyable event. Many thanks to the hosts.

In short: A fantastic course set purely in the frsh air of the Shropshire countryside. The whole course was on country lanes with virually no cars, parked or moving!
