In short: Super 10k race In full: Very well organised. The first half is undulating, with more ups than downs. Once you are over this then its downhill/flat all the way back. A good chance to make up for any lost time. Its mostly a rural run along quiet roads, and a stretch along a well constructed trail path.
Good t-shirt, free and easy parking and a very supporting group of marshals.
In short: Tough first half then a quick finish in glorious surroundings In full: Knowing how hilly Penistone is I didn't expect an easy run and it wasn't! The second half makes up for it and is quite flat in glorious countryside, if only the course went 5K out then back again along the TPT... :-) Well organised with nothing to criticise, plenty of t-shirts of my size left at the end so well done PFR and thanks, if I ache in the morning I know who's to blame... :-) Date of review: June 30, 2013
In short: Hilly for the first 60% of the run down hill ten a flat finish. Final hill s a tester. In full: Well organised event. The sound system before the race needs a bit of attention. I was pretty close to the front and couldn't hear what the starter was saying. Friendly town and plenty of parking was made available. I Would run this again if I was need of a test on the hills. I'd been meaning to do this run for years. Last 3km or so is along tabs pennine trail and has recently been resurfaced, so great for running on. Well done to the organisers. In short: Blimey those hills In full: Long time since I have been to Penistone. I suppose I ought to have known what " as flat a course as you can get in Penistone meant " ! Date of review: June 30, 2013
