In short: Great support from locals
In full: Only my 2nd half, and in stark contrast to the shambolic Cambridge half 6 months earlier, Peterborough was well organised, professional and lived up to everything promised.
It was really uplifting to have so many locals turn out to cheers the runners on - from front garden parties with high-fiving kids to home-made water stops - the community spirit was wonderful and really made a big difference.
The scenery was fine - as an urban dweller I run through similar scenes on training runs, and it was great to start with a run through the city centre streets and see Peterborough at its best.
Highly recommended!

In short: Best support I've ever seen
In full: Parking was easy and organisation was great.

Course wasn't the best scenery being a city run but very flat and probably the best supported race I've ever run.

Nice medal and t-shirt too !

In short: Flat, fast and friendly
In full: The changes to the course worked well and helped me to my fastest half-marathon time since 1991! The road closures at the start caught some of us out - we could not get to the Wellington Street car park from the A1139 via Boongate. Perhaps better info next year, especially for those travelling from afar? But it is a great value race with brilliant support all along the route, especially from the children. The finishing arrangements were great with bananas and cakes on offer, and a superb technical shirt to all finishers as well as a medal and goodie-bag. The timing system is excellent with masses of stats on the web. Incidentally my sat-nav recorded 13.25 miles, usually it is spot on. Did we run too far?

In short: Fast, friendly, good for PBs and beginners
In full: This was my fourth Perkins Great Eastern Run and even better with the start and finish in the same location. I felt the change of course was a little harder as a number of longer slopes. But generally a pretty flat course anyway. Good fun and lots of local support.

In full: All in all a fantastic morning. The crowd support was brilliant all the way round making for a great atmosphere.

An excellent goody bag at the end was an added bonus.

My thanks to all involved - especially the exceptionally cheerful lady marshall really near the end who was handing out sweets - her enthusiasm was infectious and much needed at that late stage of the race.
