In short: Good - but flaws as first timer
In full: Echo comments above. Many mistakes made beforehand with confusing flyer having no link to online entry and until last minute no on the day entry.
Race day - not sure there is a need to register if they already have our name and number, plus different location? Must be sovled next time.
Course was ok, very suburban, up and downs but 'stunning scenery' is just silly false advertising.
Marshalls ok, please give out the water not just stand there! Also water at end is essential. Will do again as its close to my house!

In short: should grow and grow with Stockport's rapidly expanding running community
In full: Hats off to lifeLeisure and Stockport Council for taking a risk with this. Closing roads is a gamble. Brilliant for the first time its been run. I loved the variety in the route and fact it started and finished in town centre -very accessible for out of towners coming by train. Marshalling was excellent. Great for 10k first timers. Very friendly. Long may it continue

In short: Really enjoyed it
In full: Really good for the first event - plenty of marshals and a good mix of first timers and experienced runners so no-one felt left out. Running up the A6 and not dodging traffic was a treat! Good varied course, hilly but not as bad as it could have been, and I actually got a PB so it's now my favourite 10k of all time!

In short: Good first race
In full: Well organised for the first year. Plenty of marshalls at various points. I enjoyed the route especially the end through the market and down to Debenhams. Minor gripes at the start the announcer said wouldn't be setting off for a while then before you knew it the gun went off! (Think this was down to not being able to hear Gannon's speech). As has been said wasn't expecting much in the goody bag but a drink would have been nice. Overall though really enjoyed the race and wil definitely be back next year

In short: Congratulations due for well planned inaugural race
In full: It had the feel of a "big race" with a town centre start and finish and closed roads. (The route to the finish was very good IMO.) Definitely has potential to be a much bigger race. I liked the course even though it was quite tough. Well done on your first go at this.

Possible improvements. Although there were plenty of marshalls they often didn't give directions until asked. Drinks at the finish are a must really and a lot of goody bags didn't have any in them and there was no water station. If the race did get bigger the path over St Mary's Way would become a big bottleneck. Lastly the finish line is not visible until you are nearly at it - maybe it could be moved back a little?

Not related to the race as such, but the course uses some of the same route at the Stockport 10. I heard that some residents were a little irate that they could not get their cars out, and this could be become an issue when the Stockport 10 is run in December.

Overall a good first race.

In short: Excellent race, especially given the fact first time run.
In full: Excellent race, especially given the fact that it was the first Lifeleisure 10K run. Friendly helpfull marshalls made this race, especially near the end of the race. Minor glitch was that the registration point had been changed at the last minute, but not a major issue. I'm sure it will be even bigger and better next year!
