In full: I did the 15k, which is 3 laps. Not a bad course considering I find laps mentally challening. Race starts staggered, 5k, then 10k starts 2 mins later, then 15k runners 2 mins after that. The start times should really be more spaced out as even doing the 15K I overtook a lot of 5K and 10K runners(and I'm not even a speed demon at a 9 min mile pace).

This is mainly a flat course on grass or path with a few challenging sections by the way of twists and turns; small, short hills and running through trees with trail like terrain. Despite having to overtake frequently, there were little to no bottlenecks so certainly has PB potential (I got one!). As most people at this race were doing the 10K distance, by the 3rd lap only the 15k runners are left and there is plenty of space so you can really up the pace and go for it for the final 5k.

Great organisation, friendly marshalls clapped and cheered, and there is an adequate but not massive spectator crowd. Results were up on the website later that day.

Negatives were that it's slightly on the pricey side and marshalls had started packing up the tape before many people had finished the final lap. Doesn't sound like a big deal but it is quite a windy confusing course so the tape and marshalls are a requirement! I would run it again.

In short: 2-lap challenging/undulating 10k
In full: 2 lap course, some challenging short hills. Walking path/grass all the way. Good organisation, though no km markers. One water stop per lap. Very laid back, beginner-friendly. Good marshals. Medal but no t-short. A nice day out. Results up on web before end of day. pretty good all round.

In short: Average 10k
In full: I've done the Clapham Common 10K about 5 times over the last 3 years. The organisation is good, very energetic marshals. It's quite expensive for a 10k - a few years ago you got a t-shirt but no such luck now.

The course is a mixture of trails, grass and paths, and has lots of twists and turns. Probably not a great course if you're trying for a PB.

In short: Flat but very twisty route
In full: The 10KM route is two laps around Clapham common. Each lap has about 27 sharp turns (over 90 degrees) so it's frustrating because can't get into a good running rhythm.

In short: Nice setting and distance, but steep price and slow and over-length course would make me think again
In full: I did the 15k, which consistef of 3 laps of the twisty course. It was fairly flat with the odd undulation and cross country section, but frequent hairpin turns and backing on yourself made it seem longer than it was (and the loop was 300m over length apparently). Plus with less than 1k to go I was misdirected by a marshall and had to go back running an extra 200m before finishing, so you can imagine I was not too happy about that.
Nice scenery and fairly ok organisation though.
A major qualm however would be that although the races were staggered, me and a fair few other runners had to dodge many slower runners and even 5k walkers on the first 2 laps. Also, dare I ssay that I think a couple of people dropped off a lap's worth of their race...

In short: Absolute rip off
In full: Don't quite know where my money went. A cheap looking medal and a miniscule cereal bar in my 'goody bag'-What a joke! Most marshals looked so bored and uninterested-Zero cheering or motivation from them. Paying extra for the bag drop area? That is the first time I've ever had to pay extra for that! The grass was seriously overgrow in places making the terrain very difficult at times. Best thing about this race? The profit innovation sports must have made.

In short: Expensive mud bath!
In full: Must agree with previous remarks re quality, or lack of it in medal and contents of goodie bag. seem to remember you at least used to get a t-shirt as well from this lot for the same cost.
My main grumble though is re the race itself, I am not sure about the idea of setting the 3 races off at 2 minute intervals, I ran the 10k and soon caught up with the back markers of the 5k at a place where the course was not wide enough for easy overtaking. More importantly given the conditions I wonder if the course was safe and if it had been organised by a running club would it have taken place at all?
