In short: Good event, generally well organised
In full: This is a good event for all abilities of runner. Its not the best Value, but OK. I do however think that the organisers are making a mistake with last minute discounts - why sign up early when you can save a fiver by waiting until the week before? .... surely they should do early bird offers instead - reward those who commit to the event early.
It is well organised, and i found the marshalls all very pleasant. I came in well over the 100th position and got a medal ... but i agree its unfair to leave some out.

In short: A typical coastal running event
In full: However -----------
Has the thin end of the wedge been exposed?
Medals were presented to the first 100 finishers only resulting in many disappointments - come on we all enjoy a medal don't we?
Is this elitism ( or even ageism )?
Noted on this event were fun runners, charity runners and wrinklies. Why was it thought necessary to award medals to fit, regular and club runners only.
I have no personal gripe with the fact that a limited number of medals were awarded as this was advertised prior to the event.I do however passionately feel that all participants should be treated the same despite ability and age.
On a positive side I have enjoyed the several Legacy events which I have attended this year and have only praise for the ones which they organise.
Could we do better in the future please ?

In short: Dw Does it again !
In full: I have done this race before and wanted to see if it was still as professionally run as my previous experience. It was indeed! Everyone seemed to know what they were doing and(although the 'surname' queuing system could be improved)waited a while in standing in the chilly beach breeze to get my number. Marshals were on the whole encouraging. A few just stood there expressionless though. Great atmosphere and compare. Goody bag is about as good as it gets at 10k races these days nice medal, tshirt and energy foods. My Garmin said 6.24 miles which felt tough as it meant I missed my PB by a few seconds. This slightly longer distance could also easily be rectified on the last stretch for next year. The changes in terrain make choice of footwear difficult for this one but I supposed beach running adds to the fun. Runners happily mingled and chatted before and after the event making it all very relaxed and friendly. My only real gripe was with the security gate man who got snotty about my exit pass from the carpark. It WAS verified by the DW shop and yet they refused to accept this but did begrudgingly open the barrier in the end. The staff at the DW shop were super friendly and organised with the goody bags too. A BIG well done to the organisers. You have much to be proud of. Keep up the good work..
