In short: Hills, hills and more hills - but cakes at the end!
In full: You don't get many chances to run with Bruce Tulloh these days so that was a bonus for this year's 10th anniversary of the race. Very well done Penny and the TVRC for another great event.

In short: A scenic and challenging 10.2 miles
In full: First mile or so is downhill from Christow into the Teign Valley, where the main road winds and undulates alongside the river for about 5 miles. This is normally a very busy road on weekdays but was well marshalled and policed on the Sunday morning. Then it's a mile or so uphill on a side-road to Trusham-the hill has an arrow on the OS map, so gives one an idea of the gradient! Some flat stretches give a bit of relief on the top, before plunging back down to the river again and the final pull back up to Christow. I've done some quite steep runs this year, but found this a really good mixture of ups and downs, such that my overall pace was very similar to that of my half marathon time on the flat Bristol course. Water stations were well-placed, marshals(& police!) were plentiful, friendly and supportive, and the medal was very smart and unusual. What made this event stand out was that many runners finishing early took the trouble to come back and support slower people, who they didn't know, at the finish.

In short: first 5 miles nice and easy then it gets hard!!!!
In full: A very friendly race, as I say the first 5 miles are nice, then just as you are thinking you are doing well s you hit the half way mark the hills hit in !!!! Defiantly enough to be a challenge but enough down hills to gave you a breather.
Enjoyable very friendly race, will defiantly do it again.

In short: Glorious Devon countryside, so expect a few hills and you won't be disappointed, but there's enough flat/downhill to make up most of the time and the scenery is worth the effort.

In short: A well organised race in beautirul surroundings
In full: I would call this race hilly rather than undulating but having said that they aren't too horrendous and the last couple of miles are relatively flat. It attracts fast club runners but plenty of others too and has a very friendly atmoshphere. Great medal this year.
