In short: Just Do It! In full: Back again after running it last year for the first time. I enjoyed even more this year. Tough run - my garmin said 110m climb. Some steep climbs - the zig zag climb near the end of each lap is unforgettable! What a sense of accomplishment for finishing! Date of review: October 13, 2015
In short: As tough as always In full: I've done this for 4 years and it doesn't get any easier. A couple of short sharp hills coupled with tarmac and off road paths. A good mix of runners and everyone made to feel welcome. Excellent organisation with good communication throughout. Date of review: October 13, 2015
In short: Very tough race, don't think you can run it with good training! In full: Very demanding course, few very steep hills, half Tarmac, half off road, great sense of achievement at the end, a bit over 48 mins on this track I am very happy with!
Well worth doing! Date of review: October 11, 2015
In short: Another Challenging but Rewarding Run In full: Twisted and turned through Snibston Discovery Park...some of it on tarmac and some off road. Enough steep bits to make it challenging....but that's where the reward comes from! Lots of stewards about and enough signs to make sure you don't get lost. Also nice was the amount of people watching and applauding all the runners and being generous with the compliments - it certainly gave my tired legs a boost. The local council might be forced into reducing the funding for the Discovery Park, so come along and support it...I'll definitely be back next year! Date of review: September 22, 2014
In short: If you weren't fit before, you will be afterwards! In full: My first time here, so not sure what to expect, but though tough, as listed in previous event ratings, it's something a bit different with a lot to keep you mentally, (and physically) engaged. Lots of loops, ups and downs, twists and turns. There were lots of Large Directional signage in the right places to keep you on track, and Marshals where needed at the tricky bits. It was dry in 2014, but if it has been wet then would advise shoes with reasonable grip for the downhill bits as most of it is on trail/grass terrain, with just a small bit on tarmac. Excellent, friendly and supportive atmosphere from the event organisers, and all the facilities/parking are very near to the start/finish which is just perfect. As well as just water at the finish, energy bars and biscuits were available too...much needed! Would do again as enjoyed the changeability the course offers. Chip timed too. In short: TOUGH COURSE BUT WELL WORTH DOING In full: Overall the race rating is better than the sum of the parts. No PB potential, perhaps tough for beginners but don't let that put you off. Scenic course and good facilities onsite. Course was a bit fiddly with laps of random fields to maye up the distance. I would have preferred 3 laps of a more straight forward course. However, overall well worth doing. Date of review: October 15, 2012
In short: Hard going and a bit cross country but great for spectators In full: Entered a few days before and my number was waiting when I got there. Seemed pretty well organised. A bit too cross country for me but still a good laugh. Good for spectators as it goes round in loops that keep revisiting the start. Date of review: October 7, 2012
