In short: Surprisingly fast race, despite the twists and turns and hills In full: Slight problems with picking up the chip and numbers as they were listed in number order not names, and the results seemed to take ages, otherwise a really good race. Plenty parking, loos, nice showers, good route even though it did twist and turn and include a couple of long steep hills. Nice weather helped, down hill start and final 400m sprint on the flat made for a good race. Cotton t-shirt and decent medal at end. Date of review: October 24, 2012

In short: Great race for runners by runners, interesting route and great marshalls In full: This was the first time this event was run and I really enjoyed it. The route was a mix of urban footpaths, cycle paths and roads before breaking out into the country side. A few cheeky underpasses and bridges kept it interesting and there were some definite climbs but with fast start and mile downhill at the finish it all evened out to make a pretty quick course.
One water stop was welcome but perhaps another later on if the day was warmer might be needed. T shirt and medal were a nice touch too.
Only minor cons were registration - all runners had to pick up numbers and chips on the day which led to long queues and the 'interesting' chip meant elastic laces were not very practical! Minor issues and overall I'll be back next year - can't find the results yet though...

In short: Really enjoyed this, will definitely be back next year. In full: Much as the previous comments. Really enjoyed the run, enough hills to stop it being boring, but not enough to hurt! Nice atmosphere and loads of encouraging marshals. Arrows on paths was a great idea. Loved the start in the main street and the finish took me by suprise as it was on the footpath! See you next year. In short: Lovely race In full: Good event. Nicely challenging route. Enough hills to keep it interesting. Well marshalled and bottled water at drink station. Nice venue - warm, coffee available, no big queues for loos, and close to both start and finish. Just a shame the prize giving took so long to get sorted. Date of review: October 21, 2012

In short: Lovely course, lots of marshalls In full: Very enjoyable run. The course was well thought out and no danger of getting lost as there were lots of marshalls all the way. Many thanks to them.
This was inaugural race. No major teething problems. A few more desks for registration would be good next year as would an additional water station.
I'm looking forward to next years race already. Date of review: October 21, 2012

In short: Very good race and an interesting course In full: It was a very good race and an interesting winding route in places. It was very well marshalled and they were all very supportive. There were a few teething problems with collecting number's and chips, the mile marker's were out in places and the overall distance was slightly short. I've never run a 5.51 mile before ;-) I'm sure these problems will be sorted out for next year's race and I will be definitely be back to run it. We got a medal, t-shirt and bottle of water, which was good. Date of review: October 21, 2012
