In short: A windmill well worth it! In full: Very well organised.Fantastic atmosphere. One of the best medals for a 10k and all at a bargain price(these days)As mentioned by others- Yes!The start could have been wider and chip timing(next year apparently)will certainly improve things but other than that the event as a whole was borderline perfect.A little windy in places must have added a few seconds on ;0 The temptation to go on the b of the bang down the first straight section and burn myself out by mile 3 got the better of me - And I wasnt overly keen on the tight turn at the finish but these things can be forgiven when the rest was as good as it was.Great work team! Looking forward to next year already. Date of review: November 12, 2012

In short: Excellent race - would definately run again In full: Really enjoyed this race - fantastic scenary, good support. The only thing I would change would be to split runners at the start according to predicted time. With over 550 runners I think this is neccesary for safety purposes, with sub 45 minute runners trying to get past much slower runners at the start. Just a minor gripe, as the race was well organised and marshalled and for £10 UKA/£12 NON UKA definately a bargain. 2 minute silence and reading at the start from Rememberance Sunday was appreciated. In short: Fast and flat Great weather and little wind In full: Lovely weather on a flat and scenic course. The speech before the start and the two minute silence was inspiring. Thank you to the lady who read it it was obviously heartfelt. Then we were off, 1st mile too fast (as usual)passed the famous windmill (hence the race name) then back along a road that runners definitely had priority but was opening up as i went along (i am about an hour runner, though just over today). The runn up to the lake seemed to take forever then we looped round and ran back by the lake and a final mile with a slight tail wind. medal was fine and liked the wagon wheel, this with a key ring and bottle of water was the goody bag, all used before my wife finished at 1.15. This was a really nice race for a beginner. I plodded round and finished 1.01.06 (by my watch, no chip timing in this race) and was definitely running with other runners all the way. I have found in some club races that this kind of time leaves you a bit behind the pack. My wife finished 1.15 and still had runners behind her. A great morning out for me Date of review: November 11, 2012
