In short: Great race, with brillilant organisation.
In full: This was a lovely race at the coast, for a good cause and the organisation was first class. The only thing i can fault the race on was the four laps was a bit boring for me. The collection of race numbers was quick and easy, with the start being good and not over crowded. The course itself was not as fast as i thought it would be and on the sea front with alot of runners going both ways on different laps later on in the race it was dfficult at times. The crowd support out on the course were brilliant and cheered the runners on all the way. The finish was great with a print out of your time and place.

In short: Not as fast as you'd think but very quick, well organised and unique in having 4 laps for pacing yourself. Really good race.
In full: The course isn't as quick as I thought as being on the coast there's nearly always a headwind! There are also two hairpins per 3 mile lap,a steep (short) up and being in laps fast runners will need to weave around other runners a fair bit in the latter stages. Excuses over!

A well organised race in a nice place, excellent medal, good food at the end and plenty of water. I liked the lap layout and it offers something a bit different to the usual. I'd keep it rather than changing the course.

In short: Really great, super friendly race - the sun helped a bit too.
In full: Really enjoyed this run, much more than I had expected to. Felt local without feeling unfriendly, was relaxed but still had a race atmosphere. The other runners were so nice - especially the guy with the number 1. Glorious sunshine too. I was dreading the laps, but actually enjoyed them, even getting lapped by the fast runners was cool as you felt like you were all part of the same race. Gripes - the parked cars on the first 1,000 metres made it a bit tight and I tripped over the bollards. It would have been nice if the Council could have closed it. I also kept feeling for my water bottle that wasn't there, I think moving the water station up the course a bit would have been good. Yes - but you can't please everyone.

In short: Cracking day for it!
In full: Nice little race, well organised, nice and flat. The multiple laps would be my only minor gripe but enjoyed the day. Should have come away with a PB but somehow I didn't, 14 sec down. Will do again next year

In short: Perfect for a PB but I didn't get one :-(
In full: Excuse me if I'm a bit grumpy about this great Half Marathon. I thoroughly expected to break my PB which was recorded at a hilly Maidstone. The weather couldn't have been better in November, the sun was out there was virtually no breeze and the course is flat bar a short ramp down and up from the promenade.

I still have no idea why I didn't get the PB (3 minutes slower) other than you could feel the breeze against you going West and the sun beating going East. The breeze was so slight though....

The race itself was well organised and around the start/finish the atmosphere was very good. The after race cakes and Mars bars were welcome and the finishers medal was probably the best I have had so far.

The only gripes I have were how quiet it was down on the promenade but the sea view made it bearable. The other gripe is the laps. I don't mind laps but I think this is one lap too many. I understand they are trying to change the course, I think most of it is great but maybe too much promenade and one too many laps.

I may be back year to get that blooming PB.

In short: Beautiful day for it
In full: This was the second time I have ran this race. The first was in 2010 and we got poured on with rain the entire time, this time it was beautiful sunshine the whole way round which amazing (Funnily enough there were a lot more spectators this time!) 4 laps mostly along the sea front. NIce and flat which helped me get a PB. There were some fast runners at the front but there was a mix of abilities as well and I would have felt comfortable if this had been my first half. Nice medal, the stewards were friendly and a big thank you to the 3 vikings (or spartans?) you made me smile everytime I saw you!

In short: What a great day!
In full: My first 1/2 marathon, I did this as I was told it was pretty flat, and it was. As a 10k runner found it ok up to the last lap where I had to dig deep, but was helped by a fantastic South African lady who egged me on, many thanks to you! Beautiful weather, lovely little place Bexhill, great set up, marshalls, results, drinks and crowd. And the three Vikings (two in thongs) put a smile on your face too. See you next year.

In short: Great weather made the day
In full: Weather could have been doing anything today, luckily it was smashing. The sun shone all day and with hardly any wind made for great pb potential and a very pleasant race. Registration process (collecting number & t-shirt) was silky smooth and efficient. 4 x 5km (+a bit) laps along the seafront, I didn't mind this but what I didn't like was the 'double backing' at each end of the loop. The fastest runners were obviously one or two laps ahead of us slower ones but one minute they overtook you and then they were coming towards you. A circular lap would be better but I guess road closures etc can make it difficult. The only mile markers I saw were 10 & 13 milers (although runners are aware that the start / finish line is a new lap) Certainly helped to have GPS watch to track performance. Lap courses are definitely better for the supporters though as they get to see the runners again and again without needing to move at all. Very enjoyable day and would consider doing again in the future, but would like to see changes to the course layout.

In short: Another excellent Bexhill half marathon - will be back next year
In full: Great weather condition, plenty of sunshine, very liitle wind. Another well organised race. It makes a nice change to run a four lap half marathon.

In short: Simple but effective
In full: A very enjoyable race - the 4 laps course is unusual for a half marthon but made it interesting and there was always plenty of room on the course. The fact that so much of the course was by the sea was excellent on a lovely day today. Very good organisation at the start and finish and well marshalled. a flat course would be excellent for PBs (not that I troubled that today). All in all a very enjoyable race and one that I will look to return to.
