In short: Tough run - but really good fun too!
In full: I love the Brutal formula - tough runs without artificial gimmicks, just really hard terrain - hills, sand, water, and mud. This particular event featured LOTS of mud. Great atmosphere, friendly runners, and a real feeling of accomplishment crossing the finish line. Don't forget to bring a towel, dry clothes, and a bin bag to protect your car seat on the way home!

In short: Muddy Mess Makes Meek Men Macho
In full: There is no chance of a PB. Unless you take your Brutal Series and attempt to beat a previous time. Therefore there is every possibility to get a PB.

With the Brutal series you get something you dont get elsewhere with these offroad. A couple of hundred runners of all varieties ranging from "How the hell do they do that" to the "Lets just go get muddy and have fun" meeting up and creating a great atmosphere. You dont get that with the bigger offroad runs nor the normal road runs.

You WILL get muddy. You WILL get wet. You WILL have 4 showers before you feel clean. But most of all, you WILL go to work and talk about it. People will think you are insane and wonder why...until they do it. And then it all makes sense.

The organisers run it like clockwork and the marshalls with their smiles and chat will make you pass with a smile.

Bordon was the messiest Brutal I have done to date...and I cannot think of any other thing I could have done on Saturday morning which would be more fun.

Now stop reading this, go to brutalrun.co.uk and go to dates. Then damn well enter one.

In full: Tough and smelly course. Well organised and clearly signed. I think the fact they have pre run training events is brilliant and I would recommend these.
The only negative is that there is no medal.

In short: Fun, friendly, tough, muddy, smelly
In full: Great event, well organised. Started on time, well signposted and marshalled by very friendly enthusiastic volunteers. Good friendly atmosphere among the middle pack runners. Would definitely do again. One suggestion... A medal would have been a nice memento!
