In short: Lovely run. Let down by marshalling.
In full: This was my first time trying this race out. The race HQ was the school and it was very welcoming and warm, with lots of kids and families, and 1km event for the kids kicking things off. The day was lovely - beaming sun, and the views were terrific!

However, and this is the only thing that let it down - two of the marshals let what looked like the first 50 runners fly past them in the wrong direction. I'm not sure how far they went, but judging by the finish times they probably lost up to 10 minutes. It's a real shame, because the organisers were all really friendly and it was a great atmosphere. Credit to them, even the leaders seemed not too put out when I was getting my things together to leave at the end.

I would strongly recommend two things for next time: a) Better marshalling b) Clearer direction signs just in case there is a marshalling error at some point. There were distance markers for the 10k and 5k races and it wasn't totally clear which lap they referred to.

I was one of the lucky ones in that I think I only ran for an extra 2 minutes or so due to the marshalling problem. I would have been gutted had I been near the front.

In short: Was all going swimmingly until until everyone was allowed to take a wrong turn!
In full: Cheerful family oriented start. Good value. Mildly challenging first lap. Unfortunately, at around 5km I was faced with 30 or so runners heading towards me. Would appear everyone ahead of me had been allowed to turn right instead of left. After standing around for a few minutes, turned round and followed them. Back at the junction saw the tail end of the runners going left. At the next km marker was 1.5km over distance. Having run hard felt completely demoralised and decided not to bother with a second lap. Could have been an OK run, but theres really no excuse for such a fundamental failure of organisation. I may be mistaken but I'm sure there were two marshals sat on the grass watching everyone turn the wrong way!

In short: Great setting and well organised race
In full: The course was muddy but that shouldnt distract from a well organised race in scenic surroundings. The hill at the start is short and nicely spreads the field out. On a dry day this course would be pretty quick - i knocked 5 mins of last years time despite the conditions. Well done Black Pear Joggers on a great event and to Malvern Joggers who were out in force. The atmosphere was very welcoming to club and individual runners and goody bag was pretty good too - with a medal, food and drink all in the great value entry fee.
