In short: The Hardest Half Imaginable
In full: A fantastic run, the muddiest conditions ever, some of the paths were like an army assault course but iy was fantastic, a real local run with great support from a very welcoming community. Brings you back to rembering why you run, brilliant, legs are still killing me!

In short: A challenging morning spent in Somerset hills.
In full: A brilliant route with lots of variety - hills & flat, smooth trails, some quality muddiness and a couple of rocky bits. Very friendly, well organised and low key.

In short: Well organised, lots of mud, loved it
In full: This race had been re-scheduled due to the floods in 2012 and I think quite a few could not make the new date as there did not appear to be as many people there.
The route was well marshalled, signposted and it ran like clockwork. The route was challenging in places but there were easier parts to help recover a bit before you hit the really muddy fields. Lovely scenery, great route, would definitely recommend it.

In short: A hilly bit, an easy bit and a very muddy bit
In full: I joined this sell-out race after some previous entrants couldn't make the new date. Organisation before, during and after was really good. Thank you Emma and everyone else.

The course involves varied terrain so I decided to wear "hybrid" shoes. The hilly bit was OK, the easy bit was great, but I really struggled on the muddy bit. Good trail shoes are *essential*.

Marshalls were encouraging and quite a few were handing out sweets on the climb. Two water stations: One after the big hill and one before the mud.

Engraved shot glass as a memento. The school PTA were there selling refreshments, including pretty decent hot dogs.

In short: Challenging but rewarding run with great Marashalls and tremendous scenery
In full: This race is very demanding with the first 5 miles all uphill. The field is mainly club runners, but atmosphere is good. The organisation is excellent with the Marshalls superb. The scenery is fabulous. Trail shoes are a must. Just do not think about using normal road shoes, and only do if you love cross country. But overall a fabulous race and one I would definetly do again.
