In short: Lovely 10K - will add this as a regular one in the calendar! In full: My first time doing this race. Brilliantly organised - from parking to kit to logistics and the refreshments etc. Really appreciated the massage at the end! The run was an out and back, muddy in sections (so glad of lightweight trail shoes) and definitely hilly! I really enjoyed the ambiance amongst participants, marshals, the crowd etc. The bluebell woods were breathtaking, but I was too out of breath to enjoy them - so will come back for a gentler walk with the family to enjoy them again! In full: First time I'd run "The Dash" and the organisation was second to none, it may well be a relatively new race but everything from parking/marshalling/food & drinks were superb. Thanks to Danesfield school and everyone that made it a great day. Date of review: April 24, 2015
In short: Challenging hills, but great countryside run and good, friendly organisation In full: This is a great race, which I plan will be a regular in the calendar. Just the right number of runners, all abilities and good marshalling. Friendly feel to it. Nice scenery (not keen on a couple of the hills) but some fab down hill as well!! In short: 10/10 :-) In full: Excellent race, as indeed it has been for the last 3 years. Slick on-the-day entries. Ground was drier this year than last, which made for a much smoother run through the woods. Some testing parts but also some very pretty surroundings. Great downhill finish and fab crowd support. Thanks Danesfield & Purple Patch. Date of review: April 21, 2015
In short: Tough but fun! In full: No PBs on this course, but a brilliant training run with a challenge around every corner, and a fantastic downhill sprint to the finish.
There was plenty of parking, clear signage, registration was fast and efficient, no queues for the toilets, hot drinks and food available ...and the organisers even arranged for the sun to come out just before the start of the race!
The earlier suggestion that the race should have been cancelled is completely disproportionate. 99.99% of entrants seemed to have finished it quite happily, and the overall feeling in the finish area seemed to have been triumph at having conquered the mud and hills! Only 1 runner seems to have found it a little bit too difficult for his liking ;-> Solution? Stick to road races if you don't like this sort of route!
Gets full marks from me :-) Date of review: April 28, 2014
In short: A fantastic, very well organised and marshalled race. Challenging, hilly, multi terrain with some stunning scenery especially through the bluebell woods. And a brilliant 400m downhill stretch of road to finish. Fab running. Date of review: April 28, 2014
In short: Fantastic route In full: Beautiful course with good mix of road and woods. Yes it was muddy but that just added to the challenge! Atmosphere was really good and organisation friendly but good. I had a great time! Date of review: April 28, 2014
