In short: PB Here We Come!!
In full: I looked this race up on RW Events when visiting family in the area and, on the strength on the glowing reviews, decided to give it a go. The race is very easy to get to with plenty of parking. Organisation is excellent and there are lots of enthusiastic marshals on the course. The course itself ranges from very sticky, muddy grass playing field to rock hard trail, so it's difficult to know what shoes to wear. I wore trail shoes, but with hindsight, road shoes would probably have been better. Nice T Shirt at the end for all our effort.

All in all, a very enjoyable race.

In short: Love it!
In full: "...says a lot for an event in a town that no one outside the area is likely to have heard of." Well I travelled for an hour to get there and it was worth every minute. Very well organised event although it always seems to be wet! Pretty course, good facilities, soggy marshalls, great useable t-shirt that fits, well done all concerned.

In short: Horrible conditions, great t-shirt!
In full: A good 2 lap course on various underfoot conditions that is helped by excellent organisation/marshalling and a simply brilliant t-shirt. Wind on the day made for a very challenging run!

In short: Good race, through pleasent countryside views.
In full: Race well organised, with a nice shirt for finishers. Apologies to anyone I got in the way when retrieving my shoe, on the field at the start. Very annoying.

In short: Great race, great atmosphere.
In full: I love this race. It's limited to a field of 500 (I think) and always reaches max numbers - which says a lot for an event in a town that no one outside the area is likely to have heard of. Loads of friendly volunteers on hand to help with parking, marshalling, etc. It's a two lap course, with the first and last parts of each lap being on a school playing field. The grass can get a bit slippy/muddy so you have to be a bit careful as the weather does tend to be a bit wet!

Part of the run is through a private country estate, with scenery which I'm sure I would have enjoyed had I not been totally shattered and wishing I'd done more training and drunk less beer during the preceeding weeks!

As mentioned in previous years' reviews, the t-shirt you get at the end is great. For the last few years the club have obtained sponsorship allowing them to give out "technical/wicking" shirts. One thing to note here is to "go large". I'm not particularly big and the extra large shirt I chose is not baggy at all. The free bottle of Lucozade Sport this year was very welcome too.

In summary: a very well organised race that everyone seems to enjoy.

In short: One of the highlights of the year
In full: This is always a special race... the reason why I have ran every 1 since I started running 7 years ago. Its always a great race, friendly, well organised and a challenging course... even if the weather is sometimes unkind. The technical t-shirt (the best of any race) is worth the entrance fee alone. One you can actually run in... great material, sensible colours and not plastered in advertising!! Well done Shepy... again!

In short: Even better than ever in the dry!
In full: This is a well organized race - even 2 laps is not so bad! Don't start off to quick though as the first bit is all downhill and you can easily get carried away. The mile markers are not accurate which is a pity, as it wouldn't be tricky to sort that one, but otherwise and excellent race with cool shirts for finishers in a full rannge of sizes!!!

In short: Scenic, two laps on farm road/tracks. quality Tshirt. Recommended
In full: Interesting distance - with 10k marker. Nice incline towards end of each lap!! Friendly atmosphere with quality T shirt as memento. Lots of local club runners. Minor moan - finished sub 57 mins and appeared that drinks had run out, (but had brought my own) and queue for T-shirt backed up to Finish line. Other than these minor points great race. Well done! Will be back.

In short: Well organised, friendly, scenic and fast.
In full: First time doing this one and really enjoyed it. Good mix and a great atmosphere around me where everyone kept each other going up the couple of hills towards the end. Cracking T-shirt. Thanks to all involved.
