In short: Brilliant race by a great bunch, loved it! In full: I loved this event, there was a great atmosphere and it was a lovely course. I have already signed up for my next RunThrough event!!! :-) Date of review: September 2, 2013
In full: As others have mentioned, only one manned water station and that was giving out small cups of water and sports drinks which most people binned along the course. It's not rocket science 'Runthrough', water is one of the basic and important aspects of a event. Bit dissapointed at the finsh, i was by no means last, but the tables were not manned so had to scrabble about for fruit and water and i ended up going back after 20minutes looking for a t-shirt as were so tucked away, did not even realise they were any.
In short: Good not great In full: The water was a major issue - only 1 water station, which you saw as mentioned below after 4.3 and 8.6 miles. And they handed out the water in paper cups - when I pay £25 I'd like to think they could stretch to bottles, so you can carry them as you run...
I disagree with the below on two points - I finished a good few minutes behind the first reviewer yet I got a Medium t-shirt - I had to hunt around though before I found where the t-shirts were being given out, but there were loads left. And I disagree on the mile markers too - most were virtually spot on - but then all of our Garmin's seem to measure differently anyway. It came in at 13.16 miles, which is I guess pretty accurate given an allowance for weaving around the paths to avoid puddles. I do agree re the cutting corners, but then again I felt that I inadvertently cut one or two and I still did 13.16mi... Also, since I'm not racing for medals, does it really matter?
Nicely arranged, with a friendly touch, and a decent course - sort the water out and you've got yourself a good race that I'd definitely come back to. Date of review: August 26, 2013
In short: NIce Flat Course In full: A flat 3 laps of Bushy Park, I see from another comment that there was meant to be 2 water stations instead of 1, which would have been good. Yes some people took shortcuts, they always will and perhaps the chip picking up runners each lap may have deterred some from 'miss-counting' laps! I can best describe this run as a 21k parkrun, pleasant and inoffensive. I would do it again. Date of review: August 25, 2013
In short: Teething issues for what could be a promising event In full: This race takes in three laps of Bushy Park and was a reasonable event but not without its problems:
1) There were supposed to be 2 drinks stations on each lap but for some unexplained reason, one of those stations was not manned. As a result, we only got water at around 4.3 miles and 8.6 miles.
2) I ran 1hr 47 and was too late for a medium t-shirt. I do not find that acceptable
3) The course is bit suspect in places, with plenty of opportunity to unwittingly cut corners. It wasn't very well marked out in places
4) Many of the mile markers were wrong according to my Garmin (by up to 0.07 miles) but the overall distance was accurate
I'd probably do this again one year if I'm not busy, but I'd ask the organisers to iron out these issues. Get more t-shirts, fix the mile markers, man both drink stations and put some funnels in place so that people do not take massive short-cuts around the corners Date of review: August 25, 2013
