In short: Testing course, first class organisation.
In full: More hills than expected, including the one (uphill) at the start (at least it provided the though of a fast finish for the next 13 miles!). Excellent organisation. Good support all round the course, with several pretty villages and a great views (particularly at highest point of the course? around 8-9 miles?).

In short: Not a dreary trot through Swindon but a glorious run in the Wiltshire Downs
In full: I entered this as a warm up for Stroud the following week and went in with the intention of not push to hard and enjoy the day out.

This was by far the best organised and scenic races I've taken part on this year. Lots of water stations handing out bottled water which I find much easier to take on the cups. Fantastic support throughout the course, great weather and beautiful scenery.

I heard several stories on how this is a tough course but was suprised that whilst it was undulating, it's not too demanding on the legs.

I'd highly recommend this race.

In short: My Favourite Half
In full: I live in Swindon and I am very proud of the local half-marathon. This is the second time I ran it, and this year was just as good as last year. Organised like clock-work, marshalls were ever so friendly and support and atmosphere from everybody was fantastic. Managed to get a pb, not quite sure how - but this made it even more memorable (although my calf muscles are still aching 4 days later!) The course itself is an even spread of uphill, down and flat; and although it is definetly challenging its nice to run a half that hasnt become to 'big' yet. Well done again Swindon, will be back to run this again and again!

In short: Every bit as good as last year
In full: Can't fault the organisation. Quite scenic and with plenty of space to run your own race. Nice atmosphere in the villages (although pretty quiet elsewhere); but a special mention for the excellent marshals. Hills make you work hard for your time, but certainly not killers. Overall this is well worth doing - I can't recommend it highly enough.

In short: The best half-marathon ever!! All other race organisers could learn a thing or two from the Swindon team!!
In full: This is the best organised race I have ever done. I cannot praise enough. The first race I have been to where there were more than enough loos at the start (plus extra around the course!)Signage for drink stations and toilets was excellent and the marshalls were the best ever - what a bonus that they removed the bottle caps before handing you the drink!! Marshalls around the course were so friendly and supportive, motivating those who were struggling up the hills!! I had a fantastic day and wish all other races could only be HALF as well organised as this one. A big thanks to all the locals who came out to cheer - well supported. Compared to the Nationwide Bath Half-Marathon the medal was a bit disappointing, but other than that I have no criticisms of this brilliant event.

In short: Scenic, well-organised and great friendly atmosphere
In full: Not as hilly as I'd been given to believe but there were one or two in there to keep an eye out for - especially the last mile or so home. But really well organised with good signage, water and loo stops, despite some of the course being in the middle of nowhere. Great community support at the villages, which was the highlight, and with downhill finish to the line was worth doing. Don't get bigger - the size allowed a good big-finish feel without being at all impersonal. Will be back.

In short: Hilly but enjoyable and well organised!
In full: Found this race very challenging - lots of up and down hills. Excellent organisation though - thanks to all the fantastic marshalls who were cheering. Crowd was a bit quiet in parts but support at the finish and in some of the small villages was good.

In short: Hills, what hills?
In full: This is my local event and I'm biased but I'm sure I'd feel the same had I travelled to this event. Plenty of parking, plenty of loos, not overcrowded, plenty of atmosphere, nice views. Some parts are tough but the downhill sections give you a chance to recover and its downhill to the finish so you can smile for the camera! I can't think of anything bad to say so I won't.
