In short: Great race
In full: If you want to organise a race copy this one!
Loads of info and kept up to date.(nice after some events where there isn't even a mobile phone no. or even a recorded message to check!)
The Scots really know how to organise and are not put off by a little bad weather!
Superb event and would recommend it along with the Loch Ness marathon.

In short: Well worth the trip
In full: I travelled up from Edinburgh and I did not regret it. Fantastically well organised race with a friendly atmosphere. Weather was pretty forgiving, bearing in mind the time of year - not much wind and only a couple of very mild showers. The course had a couple of hills but nothing too daunting.

In short: Fantastic day
In full: Very well organised and marshalled race. Plenty room at the start and finish. Excellent goody bag and a good quality medal. Also plenty for friends and family to do whilst the race is taking part.

In short: Superbly Organised .... as usual!
In full: Not my favourite course as the bit through the housing estate is dull in the extreme and there are a few small but sapping hills. Stadium finish is brilliant though :-)

Brilliant organisation, plenty of loos at the start, friendly marshalls and drinks in all the right places.

Not sure about the orange t-shirt though!

In short: Flat - I don't think so!
In full: Can't fault the organisation - website kept us fully informed right up to the Saturday which was needed with the weather conditions. Snow, gale force winds, sleet and hail we had it all. Big well done to the marshalls who had to stand out in it! Reasonably scenic route but definately not flat as it climbs steadily from mile 2 - 6 at least and has a couple of steeper bits thrown in for good measure. Last 2 miles a bit torcherous as you can see runners on the other side of the river and beyond but it seems to take hours to get to where they were. Would prefer to add a bit in the middle to be able to cut the long run in up both sides of the river at the end. I am sure it is a brilliant race in better conditions!

In short: Good and well organised race- but oh those weather conditions.
In full: Well done to all involved with organising and running this one. Fantastic website that kept us all updated on an almost daily basis.

The weather was amazing - the start was basically in a gale force blizzard although it did settle down a bit as the race commenced. Marshalls and helpers were fantastic and very cheerful despite the cold - so thanks so much for that.

Flat might not be quite the classification - seemed to climb a lot on the way out and then mainly downhill on the way back - bit like Sheffield for those who have done that.

Stadium finish is great - and the facilities (and warmth!) first class. Would certainly do it again and worth travelling from York for.

Mark.
