In short: Good clubby race with stunning scenery
In full: Enjoyable race, well organised with a friendly atmosphere. A clubby race, but wasn't made to feel out of place as a unattached runner, with lots of words of encouragement from the faster guys.
Described as flat/undulating, but some of the hills are very long, but some nice downhill stretches to make up time. Scenery was outstanding. Nice Mug as memento at the finish. Very good organisation, marshalling and water stations.

In short: Excellent 'low key' half marathon
In full: Big thanks to everyone involved. Fantastic day. Location, facilities, marshalls spot on. No better half marathon route in the UK.

In short: Brilliant start to the race season running year
In full: Second time running Haweswater (Last ran it in 2011) and forgot what a lovely friendly race it is. Hilly enough to make it a bit of a challenge and different from other halfs but the scenery is something special. Lovely way to spend a Sunday with the family. Managed to knock near 8 mins off my previous time and 4 off my half PB as well!

In short: Very tough for my third half marathon
In full: After two previous "flat" half marathons i found this one very tough.
The first half of it in particular was a real challenge and took a lot out of me.
I seemed to get a second wind for the second half - probably because it was mainly downhill and my splits seem to indicate a quicker second half.
Very enjoyable race with spectacular scenery and one that has put plenty of stamina in the bank for my next half in two weeks time.
Will definitely do it again next year, now i know what to expect it will give me a challenge of the time i need to beat.
Out of the three half marathons i have done so far this beat my first half (1:49) by 3 minutes but was 7 minutes off my PB (1:39) obtained during my second half at the Great North West half last week in Blackpool. All in all im not too disappointed with a 1:46 and look forward to next year.
Thank you to everyone who helped organise the day and the two chaps in particualr who helped push my car out of the muddy car park.

In short: Stunning Lake Districy scenery and a quicker course than you would expect for a hilly one
In full: The sort of race that makes you glad to be able to get out there and run. Although the entry form describes this as 'hilly', I have seen worse described as 'undulating'. And most of the hills are in the first 8 miles, giving you a fast last five miles just when you need it.

Many thanks to Eden Runners and New Balance for continuing to stage a race that will certainly keep me coming back year after year.

In short: A friendly, challenging and scenic half
In full: The route had lots of undulations but I did find it manageable mainly due the stunning views along Haweswater providing a welcome distraction. It was well organised with a very friendly atmosphere. Liked my mug. Thanks Eden Runners

In short: Super half
In full: Great Half Marathon, only thing I would change would be chip timing, 500 people starting in a narrow country lane is not the best.
Will be back next year
