In short: Good race in a pleasant setting. The Sunday evening time makes it a great way to finish the weekend.

In short: I've been robbed!
In full: Having completed this course in a potential PB time I have been keen to find confirmation of the results from the race organisers. Having made contact I was kindly sent a spreadsheet of results but my name didn't appear. A little disappointed, I contacted the organiser again to ask about why my time had been missed; I have now been sent a new copy of the results with 3 minutes added to my time. What happened? On closer inspection, it would seem that if my time had been recorded accurately I may have won 1st Vet lady +35 (by a good minute and a half) which clearly won't do as the prizes were awarded on Sunday evening. My main concern though is my time; all I wanted was an accurate record of how I ran. I've trained really hard for this event & I am absolutely gutted that inefficiency and a whiff of nepotism (the lady that won the prize is "from my running club" according to the organiser) has meant I get an inaccurate result! I will never set the world on fire with my running, I appreciate that I am not the fastest person to put a pair of trainers on, but recognition for a result when paying entry fees is not too much to ask.

In short: Not the prettiest of runs but the organisation was great. Disappointed there were no small T-shirts left when I finished.
In full: Long sweeping roads with an interesting off road bit in the middle just to to make it interesting. Enjoyed the Sunday evening run out. Lots of support from the locals and marshals. Will definitely do it again next year. I managed a PB so it is possible!

In short: Interesting course. Great organisation. Friendly event.
In full: Fast start downhill... you could really get carried away if not cautious within first 2K. Need to keep working up the inclines to maintain pace. Nice off-road section maintained interest. Final 2K along busy main road... though being straight, it is crystal clear how much you have to do to get to finish and hold off those around you! Good parking facilities and great organisation. One for the annual calendar I feel.

In short: Enjoyable race over a nice, mainly flat, course.
In full: Enjoyed this race, over a good course, made more interesting by the short off-road section. Well organised event but could possibly have done with a few more people at the water station.

In short: Good race, not PB potential though.
In full: My 1st time at Ranby and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some subtle but energy sapping inclines and the change of terrain (Cross country) half way through keep it interesting, but also prevents ideal PB conditions. Despite this, I managed a finish just 18 seconds outside my 10K PB... go figure!
Well organised and friendly, Ranby HMP AC make this a definite for my 2009 calendar.

In short: A well organised race, despite the open road. A challenging course and a fab t-shirt. Will be very sad if that is the last one :(
