In short: The event was cerainly blessed with good weather this year, having expected the usual frosty, late november weather.
In full: Since taking part in this event 3 years ago the organisation of it has in my opinion gone downhill. I was unfortunate to have taken a fall, spraining an ankle, at approx 4 miles. Firstly thanks to those runners who offered to stop and help. However, I managed to hobble to the next marshalling point only to find a very young cadet marshall who was singularly incapable of offering assistance. From this point on there was no sign of any emergency backup or first aid personnel along the route. Even on eventually returning to Bicton (bearly mobile) I failed to find the race director or any St John ambulance brigade member or equivalent. It's ironic that the first time I've needed some medical attention there was non to be found. This is a woeful deficiency which needs addressing for next year.
Other points of dissatisfaction are the lack of mile markers and there only being 2 water stations. I suggest placing another at about half way.
Yes do I know how difficult it is to organise races and that folks do it voluntarily but surely safety and the welfare of the runners is a minimum requirement for such events.

In short: Perfect weather helped in a challenging but most enjoyable race
In full: Only criticism was the lack of marshals after the final water hazard, it was not clear where the course then went. The hills were a challenge especially in the first 30mins, water and mud were fun especially running 'up' a stream. Very nice scenery and perfect weather made for a great introduction to off-road running.

In short: Good fun with some nice people
In full: From a personal veiw I would have prefered a bit more mud, and Iam sure that the tide had gone out from some of the puddles (They claimed the short and the unweary last year). A fun race, however it could have done witha marshal by the water jump on the return journy (or the taped barrier lengthened when exiting water) as I did see the group in front of me start to go the wrong way. Thank you to the organisers and Marshals (especialy the ones that smiled (I guess it ain't cool to smile at present))

In short: Excellent cross-country course made better by the glorious weather. An additional water station would have helped. The cadet marshalls weren't that great either - most looked like they would rather have been elsewhere.

In short: Very enjoyabl race although I don't think the Race Director read any feedback left last year!
In full: A good race spoilt by a few points that could of bee easily corrected had the feedback from last year been actioned. Everyone was saying the same thing last year and none of it has inproved i.e.

1. The most confusing start ever for a race. A line of tape across a patch of grass with NO instructions. As the tape was not marked START it was difficult to know where to go after leaving the race headquarters! Once directed, which way do you run? round the tape? over the tape? Does the tape get moved for the start? Please make thi a bit simpler, everybody around me was asking which way, where, how, why etc. Surely it is not rocket science to put a socking great big sign up saying start and advicing which side of the tape to congregate!!???

2. Two water stations? Same as last year, not good enough. Three as a minimum, again this was well documented last year.

3. The young marshals had a face like they were on death row and could hardly even raise an arm to direct runners. They really looked like they wanted to be somewhere else!

On the positive side the race route was very very very well marked indeed for a cross country race. I was behind the large group that went the wrong way and there was no excuse as there was tape marking the correct way.

May be back next year, at least I know what to expect... again!

In short: A great multiterean course with some breathtaking views.
In full: Road, trail, rocks, mud, grass, and water mix with some woodland mix with some splendid fews add a generous helping of marshalls, decorate with abundant markers and leave for an hour or two to soak up the experiance. Marvelous.

In short: A great place, good atmosphere, lovely terrain. One big problem enough marshalling. About quarter of a mile from the finish I got lost with quite a large group of runners .we landed up running aimlessly around not knowing which way to go. ot
In full: Ilost about 5 mins off my time.
