In short: they describe it as mainly flat... In full: a london marathon training definite. Its not flat in the slightest but worth it once you're done, especially for the fancy looking mdedal at the end:) Date of review: April 4, 2010

In short: A vast improvement on last year's...see you next year. In full: I think the organisers and especially the course director need congratulating on making this the best Thanet course (4 races 4 different courses) I have run. All the necessary round the houses bits to get the mileage up were on the way out and once you turned at the lighthouse it was a straightish run home. Its a shame the race HQ isn't nearer the start, but that I don't think can really be helped. At least the hall was warm and dry and you could get a much nedded cuppa afterwards. I also thought the marshals did a good job, and many I saw were busy directing traffic to ensure our safety. Thankfully the drivers in Thanet seem a bit more relaxed about road races than some in other parts of the county. The jelly babies offered by many marshalls were I am sure welcomed by many. Thanks for organising a great race which has really helped with my marathon prep for this year, and hope to be back for more in 2011. Date of review: March 18, 2010

In short: A pleasant race. The cold wind meade it tough. In full: A good race but some of the marshalls should have encouraged the runners rather than the other way round!!!! Date of review: March 14, 2010

In short: A good training run you have to pay for In full: This was an ok race. I think that the course does have potential but the organisers do not really take advatage of the location with the route. There was too many mini circuits around housing estates, which did make it boring at times. When on the coast it was very nice. A race that could be improved!! Date of review: March 13, 2010

In short: Cracking race! In full: My third time at this one, and again it ran like clockwork - even the weather was great.
In response to the numerous people complaining about lack of toilets at the race HQ, I'd simply point them to the sea-front where the race started, and the many public toilets there!
Great marshalling (in the cold), a few challenging hills, and a PB by 8 mins. What more could you ask?

In short: Great marthon training race. In full: A big thank you to all the very supportive marshalls. Great race and liked the alternative to the medal at the end. Date of review: March 11, 2010

In short: More hilly than I expected, tougher than I hoped, but more enjoyable for it! In full: First time for me, the longest distance I've run for 10 years, and I found the second half much tougher, having pb'd to the half marathon distance. Still, made my target time, but not quite how I intended! I'd have trained differently had I planned on a spring marathon. Very well organised, great encouragement from the marshalls which was very much appreciated. I thought the weather was fine - bit cold to start but soon warmed up, and not as windy as I feared it might be. No problems with seeing other folk on the few cross-overs. I also liked the route, with a good mix of urban, rural and seafront scenery. The different memento made a nice change. Well done to all! Date of review: March 10, 2010

In short: Sea, sand and a little bit of sunshine In full: We made a weekend of this, driving on Saturday from N London and staying at the Bell Hotel in Sandwich and then a little detour back on Monday via Canterbury Cathedral, so a good one for generating tourism in the area. We really enjoyed it. Even the race photos are nice for a change. Millions of friendly marshalls standing in the freezing cold cheering us on, which was very much appreciated. I liked the vocal guy at 9 miles and the lady in the purple wig later on. Nice touch with portaloos on the course plus a lovely long run along the promenade/near the sand and sea to the bemusement of the local pensioners. Hilly in places and those cabbages really did smell but a great medal in a box at the end plus proper sports drink. Things to think about next year: double the number of portaloos at the start, signs to the HQ; more jelly babies at water stops...and that's it - small improvements to make this a great race. Well done Thanet AC. Date of review: March 9, 2010

In short: 4th time around..... So that must say something!!! In full: Tough and hilly course that is ideal preparation for a Spring Marathon.
Great organisation, marshal support and event specific gift as well.
