In short: This race gave me the confidence to know I could get a good time at the London Marathon. Brilliant boost to training and a great day.
In full: Almost three years later, one marathon and a baby down, I'm thinking of doing this race again - just for fun! I did it as part of my 2007 and marathon training and it was brilliant.
Great scenery, a few short, sharp hills and good organisation. Do this and you will easily be able to predict your London marathon times and see if your training is on schedule. Enjoy!

In short: My first 20 miler - v.enjoyable...except the hill at 15 miles!
In full: Did this as prep for my first marathon ( FLM 07) and served the purpose very well - managed in 3h 16 which was about on target for me. Not done any races before so cant really comment on whether organisation was up scratch but seemed pretty good - marshalls were very encouraging and seemed to hang around for tailenders.Nice big hall at star/finish to keep warm and dry.Route interesting and the few hills were quite steep but not very long and so were manageable (just!). A bit disheartenening to see the front runners streaking back home on one of the loops when us mere mortals hadn't even made half way ! All in all I enjoyed my experience and am very glad I entered. Bring on the marathon!

In short: I was delighted to have completed my first 20 miles at such a picturesque location.
In full: The marshalling was excellent, such a surprise to have jelly babies and wine gums (even for me who was at the back!). This is not a race for beginners, the pace was the fastest I have experienced. My friends and I had trouble finding loos and lockers resulting in a late start which set us back. No drinks or photographer for me and others at the finish even though we finished under 4 hours! That was a disappointment. However, I must compliment on the excellent medal and trophy.

In short: If I ever have to run up a cliff path again it'll be too soon!
In full: My first running of the new course and by comparison the old one (which wasn't exactly flat) is like a pancake! And just to rub it in, as if the legs weren't already screaming out, there was a 100mtr boggy XC to finish.
TRAC hit all their usual high standards though to lay on another quality event.
