In full: 2011 Meon Valley Plod - I have got to say this was the hardest race I have every done. It was very challenging with all those hills and running in ankle deep mud was no fun. I quit twice at 10 miles and again at 17 miles. The thing that keep me going was the motivation of other runners and the Marshall's without them I would never had achieved this race. I can't thank the sweepers enough making sure myself and George crossed that finished line. A well organised day and think after this run the London Marathon will be a breeze. Thanks PJC for a rewarding but tough day. I will be wearing my medal with pride. Trust me though I will never ever do this run again. Anyone that is up for a challenge though must give it a go it is well worth doing and the views are amazing. Good luck to all you plodders next year I will be there but as a Marshall cheering you all on. Date of review: February 28, 2011

In short: Really well organised, wonderful scenery but very challenging In full: I might not do this race again if it follwed a week of rain, as this year's did, as it was extremely hard work, with a lot of really sticky mud, and a numner of icy cold floods which made my feet numb. Wonderful marshalls though, and cake! The coffee with a shot of rum at the top of Butser hill gave me new strength. Certainly a memorable occasion!! Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: I was told I'd enjoy it and they were right In full: I was told that I should do the MVP if I were to do a marathon as its a good test for me. Well they were right. The conditions were tough, muddy and I've never experienced ice cold puddles like it. Saying that, I loved every minute of it. The marshalls were great, no matter how far out in the country you were, they were there giving you encouragement and jelly babies. Well done to all those involved in oragnising this and to Portsmouth Joggers for holding another great event. See you next year. Date of review: March 5, 2010

In short: if you like them tough, you'll love the plod In full: Dont let anyone tell you this is an easy race, when the weather gods shine on the race it's a glorious tough race, when they frown and cast scorn on the day stand by for a puddle numbing, mud sucking, hill sliding, strengh sapping hell of a good run. This is not HELL if it were the puddles would be a darn sight warmer. Well done to everyone involved, runners, marshalls, helpers and of course Patsie and Sharon, without all of you this would never happen. Date of review: March 5, 2010

In short: What a very well organised challenge! In full: The weather, the mud, the hills and the freezing water made this a real tough challenge. This was a fantastic survival event in these conditions through some stunning countryside. The marshals and organisation of Portsmouth Joggers outshone the conditions and showed just how a race should be run. Well done PJC, will be back next year if these aches and pains ever subside! In short: Awesome and Extreme. In full: The worst weather and course in 20 years made for a very tough run. We had rivers, bogs..the lot! Great fun though but had to be careful of the falls. The gorgeous selection of home-made cakes after the race make it worthwhile, not to mention the race views on offer (if you have the breath to lift your head!). Hope to be there next year!! Thanks for the great organisation. Date of review: March 2, 2010

In short: Excellent event and faultless organisation. In full: As a runner it was cold, damp, slippery and exhausting. I can only imagine how it was like for the mashalls and organisers, standing around for many hours. And that after weeks of preparation.
